13 things that I don’t/ can’t understand right now
1. The political scene
Don’t know about you guys, tapi melihat dan mendengar berita konspirasi dan cadangan2 tak masuk akal dari pemimpin2 kita hari ni, betul2 membuatkan aku loya.
2. The politicians
Katak, beruk, barua? Hell, kat blog pun aku malu nak tulis benda2 gitu. Grow up la. Dan ingat hari pembalasan.
3. Small handbags
Seriously, apa yang kau boleh letak dalam tu? I wouldn’t use it in a thousand years. I mean, how the heck am I going to fit in my pump, my milk bottles, my wallet, my bank books, my Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the extra pair of shoes, just in case? No.
4. n00bs on public transports.
Untuk mereka yang baru aje nak berjinak2 dengan pengangkutan awam sejak kenaikan harga minyak ni, sila ambik perhatian. Pada tangga stesen LRT ada sign board ni~ sila berdiri di sebelah kiri untuk memberi laluan kepada orang yang kelam kabut nak cepat atau yang nak eksersais. It’s common sense people, macam jugak express lane di jalan raya. Dan jangan la jump queue. Orang lain pun nak cepat jugak, tapi boleh aje disiplinkan diri dan beratur. And oh, once you’re in the train, tolong la penuhkan ruang2 kosong, buat apa lah semua berkerumun kat depan pintu.
5. Football is the devil!
Here’s one reason why you don’t see any football related posts here in my blog~ I don’t understand football. Ever. Penalty kick, off-side, time-out, rubber-set, they’re all rocket science to me. It’s waay too much for my poor brain. Kalau orang tanya, apa yang aku tau tentang bola, mungkin aku akan jawab yang aku tau, cuma David Beckham. Eh, dia masih dengan Manchester united kan? *sarcasm* and oh, Cesc Fabregas tu omg he’s so cute !!1!1eleventyone!1!!!
6. Malaysian censorship board
Or whatever they call it nowadays. Hari tu aku ternampak satu benda yang agak kelakar dalam The New Straits Times. Somebody blurkan nipple Matthew McCognaughey (man I don’t know how to spell his name but he’s that hunky dory guy yang tak suka pakai deodoran tu). Aik? Sejak bila pulak man-tits jadi satu benda yang terlarang?
7. Salah faham terhadap muzik emo
Sigh.. setiap kali ada gadis remaja membunuh diri, orang akan tetap salahkan band2 emo (read: My Chemical Romance). Ok, ok, mungkin diorang ni nampak gloomy dengan baju hitam, eyeliner hitam,rambut emo, tapi jangan la buat generalization! And another thing kids, remember this - skinny jeans is for skinny people. If your muffins are showing, YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!
8. Komikoo makin kurang artikel
When I read a magazine, I want it to last, you know, bukan belek2 dan habis baca dalam lebih kurang 10 minit. No. I want it to be worth every penny. And I want it to tickle my funny bone and makes me feel that masih ada manusia yang pandai membuat lawak pandai dalam dunia ni. Especially after a couple of months of being on hiatus yang juga telah membuatkan sorang mamat penjaga kedai majalah ni ingat aku nak ngorat dia sebab tiap2 hari aku menjenguk ke para yang mempamerkan majalah2 komik Malaysia. No dude. And where’s my list?
9. Mamat yang kawin 4 tu.
No offense man, aku tau poligami tu halal dalam Islam, tapi honestly la kan, kalau aku tau sorang lelaki tu kawin lebih dari satu, aku macam hilang respek padanya. (kalau cerai mati takpe, dan terkecuali pada Prophet Muhammad s.a.w). Ok, fine, kau mampu dari segi memberi nafkah zahir dan batin, tapi kalau dah sorang bini ada dekat nak 10 anak, camne tu? Boleh ke kau jadi bapa/ suami yang bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya? Bak kata Nabil, lu fikir la sendiri.
10. Me vs High heels di 8tv
Taglinenya~ bolehkan seorang tomboy mengubah caranya unuk memikat jejaka idaman? Fuck, aku benci betul konsep ni. Pada aku la, kalau seseorang lelaki ni sukakan kau, dia takkan kisah kalau kau tomboy ke, selagi tak melanggar batas2 agama. It’s that simple.
11. Harga barang naik gila babi
Aku beli dua lauk hari ni. Satu, kuah kari ikan (KUAH sahaja) dan kentang goreng pedas bersira. Kau tau berapa? RM5. Gila. Kalau ada sesapa lagi yang mention Ubah Gaya Hidup, mari sini. Aku ubah gaya hidup kau cukup-cukup. Siapa kata harga barang tak naik sebab harga minyak naik? Bodoh. See #1 & #2.
12. Masih tiada/ kurang kesedaran tentang alam sekitar.
Bila aku minta kakak ni tutupkan lampu masa lunch hour dan guna kertas recycle, dia kata “Awak sorang aje Zack”. Bila aku bawak dua tiga shopping bag ke Carrefour, hubby aku kata “You sorang aje sayang”. Ya, aku mungkin sorang, tapi it has to start with someone, right? Sekarang ni, aku bawak Tupperware ke kantin (aku tak nak guna bekas Styrofoam tu) dan bawak shopping bag apabila membeli belah. Yeah, go me!
13. Kenapa otak aku takleh nak fikir perkara ke 13 ni.

Semalam masa tengah browse thru my friends page kat LJ, secara tak sengaja aku terrrrrbaca spoilers untuk Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! Alamak!!!! Memang takleh nak avoid, sebab bebudak gila ni tulis komen guna font size 26 dan ada tu, siap ada blinking lagi! Hampeh. Sekarang aku dah tau siapa mati (some girl from Gryffindor ~ bukan Ginny, bukan Tonks, bukan Angelina Johnson, *arrrggghh! Tensionnya!!!* and a teacher too ~ bukan tenaga pengajar Care for Magical Creatures, bukan Herbalogist, bukan Transfiguration, bukan!!!!!!!!!!) dan siapa akan terus hidup *cough*horses*cough*.

The Lost Room : HALP!
My download finished after almost one week! Dan semalam, aku menonton mini-siri ni secara marathon (semuanya ada tiga episod, setiap episod lebih kurang satu jam setengah). Dan hell, aku tak pernah rasa se-excited ni! Especially sekarang di mana semua siri kegemaran aku tengah hiatus (Heroes) dan ada yang dalam proses penggambaran (Dexter), so it’s very refreshing to see something along the same genre. And thanks a lot to Gordon for recommending this series to me :)
So, siri ni pasal apa?
Hmm… kalau Heroes berkisar tentang ordinary PEOPLE with extraordinary abilities, TLR pula adalah kisah objek2 biasa yang mempunyai kuasa luar biasa. Contohnya, sikat rambut yang boleh menghentikan masa selama beberapa saat, tiket bas yang boleh menghantar manusia (secara teleport) ke Hell (well, not technically hell, tapi sebuah kawasan berhampiran New Mexico) atau pen yang boleh mengeluarkan kuasa mikrowave. Kisahnya, tentang seorang detektif, Joe Miller (lakonan Peter Krause), yang secara tak sengaja terjumpa sebatang kunci ajaib yang mana si pemilik dapat pergi ke mana sahaja yang dia mahu, hanya dengan membuka sebarang pintu dengan kunci tersebut. Dan kunci itu juga boleh membuka sebuah bilik motel yang agak seedy dan misteri, di mana secara nyata, bilik ini tidak wujud (we’re talking about alternate universe and somewhat like time travel here), dan berbagai peristiwa pelik berlaku dalam bilik tersebut. Pada suatu hari, anak perempuan Joe, secara tidak sengaja telah termasuk ke dalam bilik ni dan hilang, dan Joe terpaksa membongkar rahsia di sebalik bilik rahsia ini dan barang2 lain yang menjadi rebutan antara sect2 yang mahukannya untuk tujuan2 tertentu (The Collectors, The Legion dan The Order of the Reunification). Haha! Macam tau2 je aku suka benda2 gini! (I mean, underground sects macam dalam The DaVinci Code, where we’re brought into the world of The Priory of Psion, the Illuminati, and such).
My dear readers, tell me if you’ve watched this series, so that we can have a discussion about the plot, the characters and such. Tak best la kalau aku dok syok sendiri sensorang :P
And, oh, if I were a character from this series, I’d choose to be Suzi Kang (played by the funny lady, Margaret Cho), because she makes a lot of dough just by selling information to those who seeks to find the Objects.

Sekarang aku dah tau siapa mati (some girl from Gryffindor ~ bukan Ginny, bukan Tonks, bukan Angelina Johnson, *arrrggghh! Tensionnya!!!* and a teacher too ~ bukan tenaga pengajar Care for Magical Creatures, bukan Herbalogist, bukan Transfiguration, bukan!!!!!!!!!!) dan siapa akan terus hidup *cough*horses*cough*.

The Lost Room : HALP!
My download finished after almost one week! Dan semalam, aku menonton mini-siri ni secara marathon (semuanya ada tiga episod, setiap episod lebih kurang satu jam setengah). Dan hell, aku tak pernah rasa se-excited ni! Especially sekarang di mana semua siri kegemaran aku tengah hiatus (Heroes) dan ada yang dalam proses penggambaran (Dexter), so it’s very refreshing to see something along the same genre. And thanks a lot to Gordon for recommending this series to me :)
So, siri ni pasal apa?
Hmm… kalau Heroes berkisar tentang ordinary PEOPLE with extraordinary abilities, TLR pula adalah kisah objek2 biasa yang mempunyai kuasa luar biasa. Contohnya, sikat rambut yang boleh menghentikan masa selama beberapa saat, tiket bas yang boleh menghantar manusia (secara teleport) ke Hell (well, not technically hell, tapi sebuah kawasan berhampiran New Mexico) atau pen yang boleh mengeluarkan kuasa mikrowave. Kisahnya, tentang seorang detektif, Joe Miller (lakonan Peter Krause), yang secara tak sengaja terjumpa sebatang kunci ajaib yang mana si pemilik dapat pergi ke mana sahaja yang dia mahu, hanya dengan membuka sebarang pintu dengan kunci tersebut. Dan kunci itu juga boleh membuka sebuah bilik motel yang agak seedy dan misteri, di mana secara nyata, bilik ini tidak wujud (we’re talking about alternate universe and somewhat like time travel here), dan berbagai peristiwa pelik berlaku dalam bilik tersebut. Pada suatu hari, anak perempuan Joe, secara tidak sengaja telah termasuk ke dalam bilik ni dan hilang, dan Joe terpaksa membongkar rahsia di sebalik bilik rahsia ini dan barang2 lain yang menjadi rebutan antara sect2 yang mahukannya untuk tujuan2 tertentu (The Collectors, The Legion dan The Order of the Reunification). Haha! Macam tau2 je aku suka benda2 gini! (I mean, underground sects macam dalam The DaVinci Code, where we’re brought into the world of The Priory of Psion, the Illuminati, and such).
My dear readers, tell me if you’ve watched this series, so that we can have a discussion about the plot, the characters and such. Tak best la kalau aku dok syok sendiri sensorang :P
And, oh, if I were a character from this series, I’d choose to be Suzi Kang (played by the funny lady, Margaret Cho), because she makes a lot of dough just by selling information to those who seeks to find the Objects.

Thursday Thirteen #20
Frankly speaking, sekarang ni, aku macam dah malas nak makan daging (except for occasional Cheeseburger Deluxe atau ayam goreng berempah). And it’s also enlightening to know that a diet rich in fish is beneficial to your health.
Children whose mothers eat fish regularly during pregnancy develop better language and communication skills !
Apa pun, aku sedih sangat dengan bad rep yang menimpa sardin dalam tin. Memula tu, ada la hamba Allah ni dok circulate email tentang kuah sardin yang dicampur dengan (gasp!) siput babi. Pastuh, bebaru ni, ada pulak yang claim kalau makan sardine banyak sangat, boleh jadi ovarian cyst (for women la). I dunno what to believe la, sebab kalau tang halal tu, memang le dah ada tertera logo halal JAKIM kat tin sardin tu, tapi kalau bab menyebabkan cyst? I dunno. Maybe kalau ada sesiapa yang buat research tentang ni dan terbukti sah? We’ll just wait and see…
Anyway, here’s another TT because this is my blog and I haven’t blogged in like, two weeks and I’m starting to get the chill and rashes and whatever… (and frankly speaking, selera makan aku macam takde sejak pregger ni and I just eat for the sake of filling my tummy and avoiding gastric) :(
13 of My Favourite Fish dishes (tak termasuk satar, otak-otak, sate ikan dan keropok)
1. Ikan pari masak asam pedas Johor (dengan sawi asin dan daun kesum). Good enough to eat with bread!
2. Ikan bawal hitam masak masam manis. The best one I’ve tasted is at a food stall near Masjid Geliga, Terengganu.
3. Ikan pari bakar cicah air asam + kicap pedas + sambal belacan.
4. Fish and chips. As long as the fish is REAL fish and not that nuggety fish paste.
5. Ikan siakap tiga rasa. Well, aku pernah makan a few times only, tapi memang sedap.
6. Cencaru bakar (goreng dengan minyak yg sedikit), cicah dengan kicap + lada + bawang stail mak aku.
7. Ikan bawal kecik2 atau belanak goreng.
8. Botok2 (ikan tenggiri dicampur dengan pelbagai daun dan rempah dan dikukus dalam daun pisang). My late grandmother made awesome botok2! And I missed it so much….
9. Ikan sardin goreng (sardin ori, bukan sardin tin) masak sweet and sour stail my MIL.
10. Gulai nasi dagang ikan tongkol.
11. Ikan bawal hitam masak kerutup (stail mak aku).
12. Ikan keli goreng bercili/ goreng tepung. Tapi mesti garing2 le.
13. Pais ikan selar kuning. (Ikan di campur dengan bawang + cili kisar, bungkus dengan daun pisang dan goreng dengan minyak yg sedikit))

13 Things That Make You Go Yum! or Yuck!
Aku terfikir nak buat pos ni masa baru nak makan soto yang aku beli malam semalam. Pergh. Makcik ni tak agak2 masukkan TIGA (yes, 3) ketul kaki ayam dalam sup soto aku. Well, aku tak kisah makan kaki ayam, tapi aku dok teringat kat Arwah FIL aku yang selera makannya mesti terbantut kalau ternampak kaki ayam (or something that resembles kaki ayam, anyway) dalam masakan tu. As they say, one man’s meat is another man’s poison. Terfikir lak nak buat list ni, and what say you guys about these local delicacies? (well, some are not delicacies but you know, edible parts of animals). Yum? Or simply no-no?
1. Kulit ayam ?
Yum! My fave sejak kecik lagi, but only if deep fried dan dibuang semua lemak2.
2. Fish head curry ?
Er, no thanks. I’ll take the curry only. Hehe, aku kagum betul dengan orang yang boleh makan kepala ikan sampai bersih, even slurping the eyes like it’s some kind of jelly >.<
3. Tempoyak?
Tak makan, but is my hubby’s favourite.
4. Tongkeng ayam?
Only in small doses. Sedap digoreng tepung, tapi dengan syarat buang dua ‘biji’ lemak tu dan semua bulu2 yang tertinggal.
5. Siput sedut ?
Yum! My fave! Tapi cuma kalau masak lemak dengan keladi le, hehe… My dad selalu mengeluh sebab ketiga2 menantunya (yang lelaki) tak makan siput sedut tapi anak2 perempuannya suka! Kalau aku makan, I’ll make sure not to eat in front of my husband sebab dia macam ‘alergik’ dengan bunyi kitaorg sedut siput tu.
6. Sambal petai ?
Nope. I eat the sambal and the prawn/ ikan bilis only. My hubby’s fave though, so kalau makan, aku akan bagi petai2 tu kat dia.
7. Perut lembu ?
Only if made into satay, sebab aku macam boleh bau hanyir perut tu (phobia takut basuh tak bersih).
8. Limpa atau peparu lembu ?
Nope. Depends also on how they prepare it. Aku suka kalau paru yang dihiris nipis dan digoreng tepung garing2, but also in small doses.
9. Buffalo meat ?
If you didn’t tell me that the dish is made from buffalo meat, I wouldn’t know the difference. Biasanya kalau kenduri kawin kat kampung2 la, dan as far as I’m concerned, dagingnya liat sikit berbanding lembu.
10. Belut ?
Tak pernah makan lagi, so I dunno. Yep, not even unagi.
11. Cincaluk ?
Pernah makan sekali. Dah lupa pun rasa dia camner. I guess it’s a no kot?
12. Sup gearbox ?
No!!! Aku tengok orang dok sedut dengan straw tu pun rasa like, alamak! The cholesterol! And please, jangan mention sup torpedo kat aku. Seram kau!!!

Aku pernah rasa sekali, kira okay kot, tapi aku lagi prefer ikan masin.

No. I have a self-esteem problem. And teenagers scare the living sh*t outta me. :
2. If not, what were your top 3 ambitions?

Doctor, scientist or detective (yes, I watched waaaay too much TV then)
3. Have you ever been called a teacher's pet?
Yes. Several times.
4. Name some of your favourite teachers from primary school, high school and uni/ college.
SRK SAB 2 Muar – Puan Hjh Jaharah
SMSAB Muar – Mr Chang (English), Miss Ong (English), Miss Anna Sim (Science), Mr Teng (Add Maths).
Sek Agama Parit Kadhi Muar – Cikgu Kamisah
UITM Shah Alam – Puan Noor Liza Mohd Rosli, Mr Viju Chacko and Dr GP Mishra.
Argh! I can’t remember the rest, but these few are the ones that made my uni days a memorable one. PS: to my friends who read my blog- please, pretty please, refresh my memories.

Fave - English and Maths / Hated – History or any subjects that requires you to go in front of the class and SPEAK.
6. Do you have bad memories when it comes to teachers ?
Yes. This one teacher in primary school enjoyed taunting me in front of the class, saying that I looked like Melissa Saila from the TV series, PJ Holdings. I cried, dammit! And then there’s this one BM teacher when I was in Form 2, I dunno what grudge that he had against me and my sisters, but he really enjoyed torturing me + my sisters + some of my close friends. Ok, so what if we (me and my clicks) were a bit tomboyish and enjoyed being hecklers in class? That doesn’t give you an excuse to pinch our arms until it’s lebam? Gah! If I ever meet that guy again….
7. Do you have any advice that was given by a teacher, that you treasure till now?
“Those aren’t music, those are actually protests”, from my father (who is co-incidentally, a retired teacher), last week, fully aware of my taste of music. I forgot to tell him that I’ve been ‘protesting’ since 1994. :P
8. What was the best thing ever said to you by a teacher ?
I forgot.
9. What was the worst punishment you ever get from your teacher?
Ketuk ketampi in front of the class sebab lukis katun dalam buku latihan. Nasib baik masa tu ngan member. Cheh!
10. Worst thing that a teacher ever made you do?
Bought him a pack of cigarettes from the groceries shop in front of our school. Nasib baik ruling pasal bebudak under 18 tak dibenarkan beli rokok belum ada masa tu, kalau tak, mati la mak.
11. If you ever become a teacher, what kind of teacher would you make?
A nerdy and dorky one, yet adored by her students because she understands their interests and their need to rebel against the world. Bah! Thank God I’m a number cruncher!!!

5 things I would do if I were a millionaire:
Hmmm… tough gak ni. Masa dapat RM1K pocket money hadiah lucky draw hari tu pun jenuh nak habiskan, inikan pulak RM1mil. o.O Seriously, aku blank. Apa yang aku fikir ialah masa depan anak aku (education and whatnot) dan simpanan emergency in case something happen to me or my immediate family. Don’t laugh at my prudence, man. I’m an accountant :P
1. Settlekan semua hutang piutang, zakat dan sedekah, dan tunaikan haji (tu kira dah mampu la tu).
2. Attend at least one My Chem concert, tak kira la kat mana. Atau invite them to spend a day with me, hehe… or, or, take Brian Schecter’s job!
3. Sumbat semua dalam FD, ASB dan unit trust.
4. …
5. *fikir apa lagi yek* serious man, aku tatau nak buat apa ngan duit sebanyak tu!
5 bad habits:
1. Hot-tempered. Tapi aku belajar untuk cool down.
2. I don’t give a shit what people think of me. (Ini kira bad habit ke?)
3. Tak reti jenjalan atau makan dengan orang. Lone ranger.
4. Too obsessed with something, it’s almost frightening.
5. I just noticed that I MAY have a borderline OCD. Selain drp tendency utk menyusun semua benda according to something (alphabetical, genre, etc) aku baru perasan yang tetiap kali lepas lunch, sebelum solat Zohor, aku akan berus gigi at least 3 kali. :?
5 things I hate doing:
1. Ironing. Aku selalu iron baju sambil layan DVD. That’s the only time I have ;)
2. Sama ngan kau Ijan ~ kena buat kerja urgent yang last minute giler babi.
3. Beratur nak naik monorel yang penuh macam sardin. Tak reti2 nak masuk dalam.
4. Channel surfing, tak kira di TV or radio. I don’t believe what passed as music nowadays. *rolls eyes*
5. Attending meetings that serve no real purpose other than eating currypuffs and fried meehoon.
5 things I'll never do:
1. Have an extra-marital affair. Walaupun Gerard Way melutut depan aku, hehe… I love my husband vv much, and the sight of a certain ‘mak orang’ and ‘laki orang’ berchenta tak hengat depan mata aku, memang menyedihkan. I just hope he feels the same way too.
2. Being obsessed about a certain singer yang dapat Datukship tu. Bleh!
3. YM. I’ve wasted Wayyy too much time already.
4. Tattoos or piercing tempat yang pelik2, walaupun memang terasa sangat nak buat!
5. Be a porn star, or playmate or something along that line :P And yeah, wear pink. :D
5 things I regret doing:
1. Starting this friggin blog. It’s so addictive, it’s almost like a commitment :(
2. Not spending enough quality time with my son.
3. Calling my BIL instead of my best friend Coy as my lifeline, during my hot seat in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. End up with RM8k instead of RM16k, bleh! (Dah takde rezeki Siti…) jgn mare, nitzus!
4. Not taking the chance to know my grandparents better, until they’re gone forever. :(
5. Ah, anw, life goes on…

1. My son :)
2. My mp3 player and mp4 player.
3. My handphone and my PC.
4. My books, magazines, stamps, DVD and VCD collection.

Thursday Thirteen #15
(this is for last week, sebab aku busy gila)

What would you thank MCR for? I'm sure everyone can thank them for something, but what is it?
1. For the music and the beautiful lyrics. Sometimes I wonder how the hell can I be happy (and high!) while listening to all their dark songs?
2. For the fact that you CAN change and make it work for you.
3. For giving me a chance to bond with my youngest sister, despite the 14-years age gap (she’s 16, and also a big fan of the boys)
4. For restoring my faith in good music. The last time I was slept with my earphones on was in 1997. Now Gerard basically croon me to sleep (To The End makes such a beautiful lullaby).
5. For burning holes in my pocket, just because I just can’t resist picking up a copy of ANY magazine with them in it. And not to mention the three black MyChem t-shirts I’ve just bought * palm on face *
6. For making such cool and dance-able (yes, dance-able) videos so that I can pretend to be Gerard and my son can be Frankie, and oh how we laughed at ourselves afterwards.
7. For all the great friends I’ve made over the internet, from Malaysia *cough*sHa*cough* and all over the world! You guys are the greatest! Thanks a lot for being there whenever I need my fangirling moments.
8. For releasing LotMS, which has been my staple diet since the last three months, much to the dismay of my blog readers because they are not able to read any new movie reviews, thanks to all the MCR-related posts which have recently bombarded my blog. :P
9. For alienating me from my colleagues at work because all I do is listen to them all day on my PC, and decorating my cubicle with all things MyChem. Which is pretty weird for a number cruncher (white collar ftw!!!)
10. For the way they treat women in general, by not having groupies and stuffs.
11. For pwning Draco Malfoy by being my new favourite blond bad boy (yeah okay I know he had dyed his hair black again) *rolls eyes*
12. For just being themselves. And for telling us that it’s okay to be messed up.
13. For Ray’s fro, for now I have a new excuse to not straighten my frizzy hair, much to the dismay of the Man Upstairs (re: my husband), hehe…
Sigh.
Note (a) I’m just gonna lurk there from now on. Suffice to say “Play with babies and you'll end up washing diapers!” *rolls eyes*)

NB : Sejak dah tau guna Torrent ni, aku burnkan siri2 TV aku ke dalam CDR, dan susun dalam cake-boxes-nya (aku beli cake box yang kecik2 so that satu season siri TV boleh muat dalam satu bekas, eg musim pertama siri Dexter dalam satu cake box). Lepas tu aku nak label satu2, sebaik saja hiatus semua siri kegemaran aku berakhir (which is around next week. Wheee!!!! Selamat men-download semua!) 13 Reasons Why I Love Wearing a Baju Kurung
1. Sebab aku perempuan Melayuterakhir.
2. Sebab ayah aku pun galakkan aku pakai baju kurung (sebab dulu aku kerja ngan audit firm di mana 90% auditors adalah berbangsa Cina, so wearing baju kurung, menurut ayah aku, “Nampak macam orang Melayu sikit”)
3. Two words : Yasmin Ahmad
4. dan watak2 dari filem beliau yang suka pakai baju kurung! [read : Orked] (a)
5. Sebab aku masih tak reti pakai blaus/ slack dan skirt. Pathetic, I know.
6. Sebab aku boleh borong kain banyak2 time sale kat Nagoya dan hantar balik kampung (b), dan voila! aku dah ada 4 atau 5 pasang baju yang boleh dipakai untuk ke pejabat.
7. Sebab aku boleh jalan dengan selesa, provided baju tu dibuat mengikut spesifikasi yang aku nak (mesti besar, yo!)
8. Sebab aku takyah susah2 nak meng’control’ perut atau bimbang tentang spare2 tyre yang kelihatan kalau pakai kebaya and whatnot. (c)
9. The most comfy attire you can wear!
10. Dan cukup syarat menutup aurat, provided you wear your tudung properly la. (covering your, ahem, assets, coz it really piss me off if guys talk to my boobies (d), like, honey, my eyes are up *here*)
11. Sebab certain makcik2 akan treat you differently if you wear a baju kurung and tudung (e)
12. Sebab aku boleh berkongsi pakai dengan emak atau adik2 aku, walaupun kekadang kainnya agak senteng sebab aku terlebih tinggi. :P… dan
13. Sebab cantik!, whether kau pakai sutera RM250 sepasang atau kain biasa2 borong kat Tangkak RM50 untuk 3 pasang, kau akan kelihatan cantik! (my personal opinion la)
(a) Aku paling suka baju kurung kain cotton, dengan corak bunga kecik2. Selesa gila! Dan sempoi dalam sopan!
(b) Kalau tempah kat kampung aku, masih lagi RM28 sepasang (dan makcik tu akan siapkan dalam masa tak sampai seminggu, sebab aku paymaster yang bagus :P), berbanding ngan kat KL ni, yang dekat nak RM60 sepasang! Gila!
(c) I’ve sworn off kebaya’s since the day I got pregnant with Ikmal.
(d) Not like they’re huge or anything, but y’know, I hate to see that look on their faces.
(e) Yang ni memang pengalaman aku la, balik kampung hubby di pantai timur. First of all, (IMHO la), orang kat sana akan tengok kau lain macam kalau kau pakai jeans dan t-shirt (apatah lagi kalau kau pakai T-shirt rock and whatnot!). So, in order to blend in, pakai la baju kurung. Tak rugi apa pun. Dan makcik2 yang dulunya tengok kau lain macam, mungkin akan strike a conversation with you (ini pengalaman aku la).

13 Snek/ Makanan Ringan Yang Aku Suka
(tak kira jajan atau kuih tradisional)
1. Otak-otak Gelang Patah
Walaupun dijual di KL atau Muar, orang still panggil OOGP (wah, macam Harry Potter lak, OOTP). Aku suka yang warna oren, dan yang smooth dan tak banyak tulang, serta dibakar tak terlalu hangus.
2. Cheezels perisa original
Aku suka sebab dia masin dan kalau yang kembang2 tu, pergh, macam cair dalam mulut! Sedar2 aku boleh habiskan satu bungkusan besar tu dengan sekali hadap. Gila.
3. Satar
The best thing about Terengganu. Dan paling best kalau makan kat tepi pantai Kemaman sambil ditiup angin sepoi2 bahasa atau makan kat dalam kereta dalam perjalanan nak balik ke KL. Yg tak bestnya ialah leceh sebab kena basuh tangan properly (sebab dia manis yo!) Kitaorang suka beli kat gerai Aziz Satar (ya, nama dia memang camtuh). Located belakang masjid Geliga, dijual RM3 untuk satu batang (ada lebih kurang 10 ketul, pastuh dia ada campur cili padi skit, pergh! Kalau tergigit tu, nikmatnya…)
4. Mee segeraMawi Mamee perisa lontong
5. Wise Cottage Fries perisa tomato
Entah ngapa aku suka jenama dan perisa yang nih. Mungkin sebab tebal sikit kot.
6. Popiah basah
Tak kira la SS Ali ke, apa ke, janji kuahnya banyak! Ake selalu je mintak kuah lebih (apa kau ingat Maya Karin je ke yang nak semua lebih?) Dan ada udang geragau kering. Yum!
7. Cadbury Bytes
My latest obsession. Keras di luar, lembut di dalam. (Dalam maknanya tu, hehe…)
8. Kitkat original
Aku dan Ikmal boleh habiskan satu pek ekonomi yang ada 8 peket tu dengan sekali hadap. Dia satu, aku satu, dia satu, aku satu… (Ya Allah, selamatkanlah gigi kami…)
9. Keropok perisa durian
Masa kecik2 dulu, aku selalu beli dari lelaki India penjual roti yang bawak basikal, dan kalau nak beli, kena panggil Roti! Roti!, walaupun ko tak nak beli roti dia (beli jajan la, tapi kalau ko panggil Jajan! Jajan! haram dia tak berhenti, yo). Dan nama India tu kat surat beranak pun bukannya ‘Roti’. Hmmm… satu hari aku mesti tanya mamat yang jual roti tu sapa nama sebenar dia.
Keropok ni dulu 20 sen aje, dan yang paling best ialah serdak dia. Kekadang aku sengaja pecahkan keropok tu sampai hancur dan makan serdak aje, hehe. Best!
10. Keropok lekor
Yang asli drp Terengganu, yang lebih banyak ikan drp sagu. Pastuh makan ngan cili pencicahnya yang manis tu, pergh!
11. Milky Bar drp Nestle
12. RotiBoy
Makan time panas2, bau mixture biskut kopi kat atas dan butternya yang cair… Heavens!
Teringat aku kat satu cerita ni. Masa tu baru balik dari KL Convention Centre lepas NAC tahun lepas.
Seperti biasa kalau masuk KLCC, aku akan singgah kat kedai Rotiboy sebelum balik dengan LRT tu. Hari tu aku beli 6 rotiboys utk my hubby, MIL and family. Dalam perjalanan balik…
Drebar teksi berbangsa Cina: Wah kak, sedapnya bau. Apa tu?
Aku : Roti. Nah ambik la satu. (Entah ngapa aku macam terasa nak bagi dia)
Drebar : Oh, terima kasih, terima kasih. Wah saya tak pernah jumpa lagi la benda ni. Kat mana beli?
Aku : KLCC. (sebelum membayar tambang dan turun kat depan rumah)
Drebar: Oh, thank you ah!
Aku: Ok.
Damn. Entah ngapa aku pulak yang rasa cambest, padahal drebar tu tak bagi diskaun pun.*
13. Kacang kuda rebus
Bukan kuda rebus kacang atau kacang rebus kuda tau!
Dengan syarat, kena buang kulit dulu. Aku memang tak suka benda2 berkulit, esp kacang dan juga sayur2 berbatang mcm batang kangkung, batang bayam, batang kailan dan batang kobis bunga.
Hmm…. Ingat lagi masa kecik2 dulu, aku selalu aje beli jajan terutama yang murah2 la, KaKa la, Kam Kam la, semata-mata sebab nak dapatkan mainan kecik yang datang free dalam bungkusan tuh. Ding Dang atau Tora aku tak beli sebab tak mampu lagi, hehe (yelah, masa tu, 50 sen tu kira besar la tuh!). Seriously, mainan2 free sekarang tak best macam dedulu. Dan yang pasti, jajan dan Mat Sentul tak dapat dipisahkan!
* Insya Allah bila ada masa aku akan tulis pasal drebar teksi pulak, sebab aku memang pelanggan setia teksi kat stesen Cempaka ni (bila tak balik saing ngan hubby aku la).

Thursday Thirteen #9
13 Perkara Yang Korang Tak Tau (atau dah tau, hehe) Pasal Zack
(as if you care, duh!)
1. Dia tak tahan sejuk
Kalau tido, kipas siling tak yah bukak pun takpe. (Much to the dismay of the two men of her life). Kalau bukak gak, bangun pagi sure kena selsema. Same goes kalau kat ofis. Siap pakai stoking mengalahkan orang baru bersalin. Probably pasal pernah kena pneumonia back in 2004. Seksa! Dan dia mempunyai phobia akan mati ditimpa kipas jika kipas dibukak lebih drp 3.
2. Dia gila skit bab2 obsesi nih.
Kalau dia dah minat kat something or someone, dia akan really2 go the distance dgn membeli apa2 majalah yang ada pasal diorang/ join forum/ donlod gambar/ filem/ mp3, tunggu diorang muncul di kaca TV, cari semua info available pasal object of her current affection/ obsession. Dan nak tau semua, as in SEMUA info, termasuk tarikh lahir, nama manja, nama nenek, makanan kegemaran, sekolah kat mana, etc, tapi kalau dah tak minat, langsung dia tak pedulik dah.
3. Dia geli dengan ikan hidup
Walaupun masa kecik2 dulu slalu jek sauk ikan guppy/ sepat/ puyu kat parit depan rumah, tapi sampai sekarang dia masih takleh nak pegang ikan hidup. Geli gila bila menatang tu bergerak2 dalam tangan *eeeeee*
4. Dia tak gemar membaca dan membeli majalah2 kecantikan/ wanita
They made her feel insecure, ugly, fat and decrease her self-worth and self-esteem.
5. Dia kalau suka makan something tu, dia boleh makan benda tu berhari2 tanpa jemu.
Contohnya, laksa Penang, spaghetti Bolognese, ikan keli goreng bercili kat depan ofis lama kat Jalan Ipoh, nasi ayam bawah pokok sebelah Mayban Finance Jalan Pudu.
6. Dia suka sangat main dan gi jalan2 ngan anak dia
Disebabkan hubby dia slalu sibuk, dia selalu je bawak anak dia gi jenjalan kat Sg Wang dan Berjaya Times Square, terutama sekali kedai buku, kedai toys dan kedai makan sebab makan bersama2 anak berdua adalah best!
7. Dia sanggup berhabih duit kalau pasal buku atau DVD atau T-shirt bundle.
8. Dia tak pernah menjejakkan kaki ke mana2 kelab.
Menggigil ko.
9. Dia tak minat apa2 yang berkaitan dengan chenta
Baik felem ke, lagu ke, novel ke, sebab dia dah jadi seorang yang agak emo dan skeptik bab2 chenta ni (sejak kat U lagi, kecuali chenta kepada Allah dan Rasul la). Kalau tengok kapel berPDA macam tak hengat pun dia rasa cam nak tembak jek. (ya, aku memang saiko).
10. Dia tak pakai kad kredit
Walaupun dia dapat free2 jek masa lucky draw tahun lepas tu, sebab dia tak percaya dengan konsep beli dulu, bayar kendian. Dia suka – perlu tak benda tuh? Kalau perlu, dan ada duit - beli, kalau takde duit, kumpul dulu, pastuh beli. Kalau tak mampu jugak, gi hypermarket atau Petaling Street dan cari versi tiruan. (I want a pair of Crocs!!!!)
11. Dia masih takleh nak kikis sesetengah tabiat tomboynya.
Contohnya, bab2 dressing, pertuturan, jalan, (dia jalan laju gila dan suka naik dua anak tangga sekaligus). Walaupun ada yang menegur, dia dah tak kisah dah apa orang nak kata.
12. Babies (especially newborns) made her smile (even though it hurts f-ckin bad in the inside)
Baunya sedap!
13. Dia tak forward email2 pasal celebrity
Atau, for instance, email pasal anak si anu pakai spagetti strap ke, adik si ntah sapa ntah suka gi clubbing la, sebab pada dia, benda tuh sama jek macam mengumpat. And who are we to judge people with their behaviour? Dia percaya, kekadang orang yang kita dok kutuk tu jika mendapat hidayah dari Allah, akan jadi lebih baik drp kita.
Bonus:
Lelaki berspek boleh membuat dia menoleh dua kali. (Orang tu jangan perasan ye)
Dia suka bau bawang goreng, bau air-cond supermarket dan bau hujan.
Dia paling suka warna biru dan hitam.
Dia agak socially inept dan pendiam kalau dikelilingi oleh orang2 yang tak dikenali.
Dia lemah dengan coklat, aiskrim dan kek.
Dia agak sensitive dan lembut hati. Kalau tengok iklan Petronas pun dia boleh meleleh…:P
