Frankly speaking, sekarang ni, aku macam dah malas nak makan daging (except for occasional Cheeseburger Deluxe atau ayam goreng berempah). And it’s also enlightening to know that a diet rich in fish is beneficial to your health.

Children whose mothers eat fish regularly during pregnancy develop better language and communication skills !

Apa pun, aku sedih sangat dengan bad rep yang menimpa sardin dalam tin. Memula tu, ada la hamba Allah ni dok circulate email tentang kuah sardin yang dicampur dengan (gasp!) siput babi. Pastuh, bebaru ni, ada pulak yang claim kalau makan sardine banyak sangat, boleh jadi ovarian cyst (for women la). I dunno what to believe la, sebab kalau tang halal tu, memang le dah ada tertera logo halal JAKIM kat tin sardin tu, tapi kalau bab menyebabkan cyst? I dunno. Maybe kalau ada sesiapa yang buat research tentang ni dan terbukti sah? We’ll just wait and see…

Anyway, here’s another TT because this is my blog and I haven’t blogged in like, two weeks and I’m starting to get the chill and rashes and whatever… (and frankly speaking, selera makan aku macam takde sejak pregger ni and I just eat for the sake of filling my tummy and avoiding gastric) :(

Hhee, meme on food again!

13 of My Favourite Fish dishes (tak termasuk satar, otak-otak, sate ikan dan keropok)

1. Ikan pari masak asam pedas Johor (dengan sawi asin dan daun kesum). Good enough to eat with bread!
2. Ikan bawal hitam masak masam manis. The best one I’ve tasted is at a food stall near Masjid Geliga, Terengganu.
3. Ikan pari bakar cicah air asam + kicap pedas + sambal belacan.
4. Fish and chips. As long as the fish is REAL fish and not that nuggety fish paste.
5. Ikan siakap tiga rasa. Well, aku pernah makan a few times only, tapi memang sedap.
6. Cencaru bakar (goreng dengan minyak yg sedikit), cicah dengan kicap + lada + bawang stail mak aku.
7. Ikan bawal kecik2 atau belanak goreng.
8. Botok2 (ikan tenggiri dicampur dengan pelbagai daun dan rempah dan dikukus dalam daun pisang). My late grandmother made awesome botok2! And I missed it so much….
9. Ikan sardin goreng (sardin ori, bukan sardin tin) masak sweet and sour stail my MIL.
10. Gulai nasi dagang ikan tongkol.
11. Ikan bawal hitam masak kerutup (stail mak aku).
12. Ikan keli goreng bercili/ goreng tepung. Tapi mesti garing2 le.
13. Pais ikan selar kuning. (Ikan di campur dengan bawang + cili kisar, bungkus dengan daun pisang dan goreng dengan minyak yg sedikit))

zack, sedapnye!! aku ni baru lepas lunch makan tuna sandwich jek. nengok ko nye list boleh jadik homesick... i also miss my late grandma's botok2 and her lah especially... (T_T)
 
gee, i had to read ur blog posting on food when i am hungry?! and its like another 45 min to lunch. ugh! i LOVEEEE ikan keli that's really garing. i can only find that in malay restaurants and thank god there's one near the office that serves really nice ikan keli. and of course ikan pari in asam pedas is simply delightful! okay, i shall stop talking about food... my stomach is making noise!

Coy: Aku takleh nak balik kampung sebab my hubby kata baru lagi, takut anything happen :(, and yeah, I missed home too, and my mom’s cooking (walaupun dia selalu komplen yang adik2 aku tak makan sangat dah kat rumah). Speaking of my late grandma, come to think of it, yeah, aku rasa nyesal jugak tak kenal dia dgn lebih rapat, apatah lagi belajar masak dr dia. And I missed your grandma too. Rindu tengok dia yang selalu duduk kat luar rumah masa dia ada lagi dulu :( AlFatihah to both our grandmas.

GK: Go, have lunch already! It’s only in Malaysia that we find different races having the same tastebud. And the food! Haha, and yes, when I say garing, I really mean garing enough to eat the fins, the tail AND the head (at least the one that covered the gill la).

Ash: Welcome aboard! My hubby is from Terengganu (but have been living in KL since he was a child). Yep, kat sebelah masjid tu kan ada satu deret gerai (dekat ngan stesen bas rasanya), and I think ada satu stall ni, jual nasi berlauk, siap dengan ulam + sambal belacan yang sangat umph! My MIL suka cencaru bakar dia (siap mintak resepi lagi tu!) and I loved their bawal masak sweet and sour. Udah le murah, pastuh sedap! Rasanya ada la 5-6 kali saya makan kat situ, dok order lauk yang sama je, hehe. Other specialties kat situ – sup tulang. Dan kalau drive jauh sikit kat belakang masjid- makan apa lagi kalau bukan satar! Bestnya!
