Yup, life is really hectic for me. Penat betul sejak dah ada dua hero nih. Apa pun, NM, if you’re reading this, aku dah pun beli Komikoo #1. Aku jumpa kat Kedai Selvan yang kat korner bangunan BB Plaza tuh. Kat Sun Comics Sungai Wang pun dah habis aku rasa (oh, btw, I bought the inaugural issue (#0) sebelum aku cuti bersalin hari tu), tapi tak sempat lagi nak belek2 habis until today.
Bapaknya ni tak habis habis, Komik, komik komik, Komik, komik, komik Tak habis2, komik komik komik.
~ Mak Dakkosi (lakonan Adlin Aman Ramlie dengan lipstik berwarna coklat kemerahan, dari siri Dakkolin Dakkosi aka “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name… because everyone’s wearing a freakin’ nametag”.)
Komen:
Katakan la macam nih. Kau teringin sangat nak baca pos terbaru di blog Roy atau Nazim Masnawi, tapi malangnya kau takde internet (oh crap, aku baru teringat yang blog salah sorang daripada mamat ni dah lama terkubur). Or, lebih bangkai lagi (aku suka betul ayat ni), ko langsung takde komputer, so, you forked out your RM4.20 and bought this magazine. (Ah! Ada ilustrasi Wentworth Miller dengan stail mohawk!?!?!!?)
And dude, if (IF) you think you’ve encountered the idea for your comic somewhere, don’t hesitate to note it down. Kentang2 sofa dengan memori fotografik ada di mana-mana… (I’m referring to Zafran’s Satu Butang di Garisan, yang mana aku pernah tonton cerita ni dalam siri Twilight Zone (Episod Button, Button hasil tulisan Richard Matheson, yang pertama kali ditayangkan pada tahun 1986.) Ah, mungkin kau tak tau kot, kau belum lahir lagi masa tu…
Oh, btw, Israq Reffandy, we actually went to your wedding dude, tapi mungkin kau tak perasankan aku. Masa tu hujan lebat…
PS: Ben Anwar, mengatakan komik itu diciptakan untuk golongan Adam is like saying, uhm, cooking is just for kaum Hawa. Uno-lame-o. After reading this article from start to finish while I was on the train on my way back from office, I agree 110% with u, dood. Good stuff, good stuff.
PPS: Siot ah, aku beli lambat, contezz dah expired. :(
Ah, lupa nak bagitau, for more info, visit komikoo dot blogspot dot com.
Okay, Nazim Masnawi, kau dah boleh hantar cek tu kat aku sekarang. Tunai pun aku terima, ok.
One Film, A Book and Lots of Star Wars Covers!30 years old, this film is.
Ok, time for some Q&A.
How have the Star Wars films inspired you?
By opening a whole new world of great films and sci-fi in general. And so began my infatuation with Han Solo (Harrison Ford~ walaupun dia sebaya ngan ayah aku – tapi sejak dia kapel ngan Calista Flockhart aku tak minat sangat dah) and all things Star Wars related. I love looking for SW references in films, esp. those directed by Kevin Smith, who is a big fan of the film. And as much as I hate to admit it, I fall in love with my last bf just because he’s a SW fan, and because I loved his Storm Trooper t-shirt. The relationship was platonic, but it lasted for 2 years. Celaka.
Do you own many Star Wars products?
Not really. I’ve got a couple of the books and the movies on DVD, plus some toys I got from Pizza Hut during the re-release of Star Wars way back in what? 1998 ? Amongst them is a carbon-freeze Han puzzle, A Death Star puzzle, R2D2 and C3PO magnetic puzzle and a Millenium Falcon game yang aku tak tau kat mana dah. A set of 20 trading cards from KFC, during the release of The Phantom Menace. And my Star Wars Panini sticker book (not completed, though). Also, my Special Edition of Star Wars: A Celebration (25th Anniversary) and The Unofficial Star Wars DVD Viewing Companion, both came free with Empire Magazine.
One thing you hated about the SW saga?
I don’t know about you guys, tapi aku lebih sukakan filem2 sci-fi yang takde/ kalau ada pun sikit, watak2 bukan manusia. I mean, I don’t have anything against alien life forms macam dalam BSG, Star Trek, Star Gate dan uhm, ALF?, tapi aku lebih suka kalau sesuatu filem/ siri tu, berkisar tentang manusia atau kalau alien pun, yang lebih kurang macam manusia (eg. Deanna Troy dalam ST:TNG, Mr Spock dalam ST atau golongan Reavers dalam Firefly). Jar Jar Binks, kick your ass, I will.
Ok, who shoots first?
Greedo, me thinks. :)
I’m currently reading…
Girls On Film By: Clare Bundy, Lise Carrigg, Sibyl Goldman & Andrea Pyros. Publisher : HarperCollins (1999) Price : RM12.90 di Pay Less Books.
Hah, siapa kata orang perempuan cuma suka nonton chick flicks aje? Well, not me !*. And at least not these 4 friends who had known each other since college, and all shared the passion for good films. Tak lupa juga soalan2 ala meme seperti An Absurd Plotline, The movie I want to live in, The Creepiest Villain is… dan Scary Hair Situations (Lise: Don Cheadle in Boogie Nights; Sibyl: Sam L Jackson’s braided goatee in Jackie Brown; Andrea: The stylist on The Lost Boys has got some explaining to do dan Clare: Christopher Walken’s hair in The Prophecy.) LOL!
I just hoped that these ladies will come up with a new book or a new website!
*Well, aku tipu :P Chick flicks kekadang boleh jadi my guilty pleasure atau filem2 yang aku akan tonton kalau dah takde filem2 lain nak tengok. Give me Reese + Gwyneth + Mark Ruffalo anytime! And a box of Kleenex too, please. :P
James McAvoy + Timur Bekmambetov = Oxygen! I need oxygen!!!!
Slated to be released somewhere in April 2008, filem adaptasi komik Wanted hasil karya Mark Millar ni sedang dalam proses penggambaran. Diarahkan oleh godfather filem trilogy Night Watch/ Day Watch/ Dusk Watch, Timur Bekmambetov, filem ni akan menampilkan James McAvoy sebagai Wesley Gibson, si pengurus akaun yang agak ke-loser-an, sebelum mendapat tahu yang bapanya merupakan seorang penjahat tahap dewa yang baru saja mati dibunuh, tanpa mengetahui yang beliau mewarisi skillz bapanya iaitu kepakaran dalam menggunakan apa saja jenis senjata and also the ability to shoot straight (well, one thing we know, THAT is one crucial skill for a guy, hehe).
Hmm.. walaupun watak Wesley ni dimodelkan sempena Eminem, tapi aku rasa macam tak sesuai jek kalau Em yang memegang watak ni. Maybe because he’s a bit too old? I think I’ll just wait and see.
Just Some Mindless Fangirling... :PHeh, mungkin aku terlambat, tapi this just came in my inbox:
“Linkin Park confirmed today the fourth installment of Projekt Revolution beginning July 25th and culminating on September 3 in Denver at the Coors Amphitheatre (routing below). Fans can expect to see Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday (Adam Lazzara!!!!), HIM, Placebo (oh, the original boy in eyeliner ~ Brian Molko) and Julien-K on the Main Stage and Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Styles of Beyond and Madina Lake on the Revolution Stage. Projekt Revolution and Music For Relief have been working hard to make this an environmentally conscious event. Besides making Projekt Revolution a "green" tour, $1 from each ticket will be donated to American Forests' Global ReLeaf program to plant trees to help reduce global temperatures.”
Syeah! Aku rasa naikkan temperature ada la!!! I mean, LP + MCR??? Gosh !!! (I hope by this time the horny bassist dah join balik), man, I can’t wait for the reviews. And the pics too! :D
May 14th/ 15th – We’re waiting for you!!! Apart from MTM, also released on this day is MCR’s next video ~ Teenagers. Heh, looking at the stills, nampak gaya macam I’m Not Okay (I Promise Part 2). Bah! I just hoped this is waay better than that sappy romantic called I Don’t Love You :P
Seriously, aku tension betul dengar citer2 yang membuat aku tension. Really. At this stage, aku rasa aku dah malas nak ambik tau dah, but then, it’s my family after all. Sigh… when will this all end ? :(
And they say you should really look at beautiful things during this time, so pardon the mindless self-indulgence…
I really have this love/ hate relationship with this so-called emo-hair. As much as I loved seeing them on my fave musicians, I really prefer to keep ANY hair away from my eyes. Really. I’d rather bun them up like some frigid b*tch than let them poke into my eyes, thank you very much. Anw, it looked pretty cool on this guy too…
Haha, such a funny guy! Dunno about his ethnic background though; I’ve been searching high and low on the net, but to no avail – rasanya ada one poster at imdb board kata dia French/ American (Hawaiian), but sigh… Oh, this guy blogs too, at his short but sweet blog. :) and the one on AFI’s Official MySpace. Great read if you need to cheer up.
Arrgh! Since when did Patty Stump looked so hot? And Petey, can we watch a decent FOB video without any scenes of you smooching/ frolicking with sexy babes? Sigh…
I saw the trailer for Harsh Times the other day, and man, lamanya aku tak nonton filem Christian Bale.
Okay, did anyone get The Umbrella Academy on Free Comic Book Day ? Hubby aku sibuk ngan wedding lak hari tu, tak sempat nak ajak dia ke Mind Shop, PJ. Ah well, at least the scans are available on UTB.
This ain’t a dream, (it’s a god-damn a$$-faced yang perasan) :P
(dalam tren yang sesak)
Peter Petrelli: Oh, kak, kesian akak kena berdiri. Nah, ambik la tempat duduk saya ni. Saya ni able-bodied young man yang memang berbudi bahasa dan bersopan santun…. Mohinder Suresh : Blah la lu mamat… Aku: (Mati terkujat) Future Hiro: (sambil betulkan janggut) Tuan Direktor, buleh saya kuar sekarang? Later people. On the other hand dunno la whether I should stop blogging during this few months. Got loads to jabber but then I think I should really rethink my priorities now. ;)
Things like this can really, really put a smile on my face…
:-)
And you know what else put a smile on my face ? Yes!!!! Reading a brand new Galaxie mag, fresh from the magazine stand. Some of the things that make me O.O from the recent/ latest issues of Galaxie are…
1. Muse, Muse, and more Muse. 2. My Chem. Seriously, I don’t care if they’re printing the same pictures/ posters over and over again, coz they’re my fave band right now. 3. *keeping my fingers crossed for any contest with Linkin Park goodies* 4. The interview with my fave (fictional) plastic surgeons, Christian Troy and Sean McNamara AND the woman who shared their love. 5. The nearly half-naked pic of Pete Wentz during their Singapore concert. o.O. 6. Wentworth Miller holding a copy of Galaxie!!!! THE WENTWORTH MILLER!!! OMG! They should’ve sent me instead of that mag :P Hell, I’d pay for the air fare. :P I would even pay him to hold me like that :P:P:P 7. The poster of Daniel Radcliffe. In Equus O.O (I wasn’t expecting that. Honest!) 8. Dumbledore’s Army!!!! (This poster is totally going up on my cubicle!) Luna Lovegood looks so, er, good! 9. TVgasm! Kyle XY (I can see my youngest sister grinning from ear to ear by now), Heroes, Ugly Betty, ANTM, Supernatural, Prison Break, the CSI series; it’s like TV dot com, only better, because you can’t drool over them in the bathroom can you? 10. Adam Levine, for kicking Gerard Way’s ass by being voted as the Best Looking Frontman. I demand a recount! :P The same goes to Chad Michael Murray, who beats Went by a mere 5% by being TV’s Hunkiest Guy :P Cute, yes, but hunky? Nuh-uh. 11. Shia LaBeouf. I almost didn’t recognize him coz he looked so, uhm, grown up! Haha, the same expression I got after seeing Lucas Black in Tokyo Drift (I’ve always remembered him as Caleb, that little boy from American Gothic) 12. So many contests, so little time. :( 13. And yess!!!! There are lesser ringtone adverts now. I mean, the ads are still there, but not as irritating as the ringtones ads. Ugh.
Thank you again for all the good stuffs! That really made my night. Now will you excuse me, I want to sleep in peace. :)
Fateful Encounter with an Old FlameSewaktu berkunjung ke Kiosk Bukit Bintang ni utk mencari jajan emergency sebab perut aku dah rasa lain macam jek, aku terjumpa buku ni…
Tajuk : Nirvana – Winterlong (Photography by Martyn Goodacre, Steve Gullick & Stephen Sweet) Dec 1989 – Dec 1993 Harga : RM10 (jumpa dalam bargain bin, datang free ngan majalah Dazed bulan Sept 2006) Penerbit dan tahun : Vision On (1999)
Tak hairanlah mengapa beliau digelar “reluctant spokesman of a generation”.
Aku, dia (Kurt) dan Nirvana ~ Love at first byte!
Aku mula kenal band ni, masa nonton siri TV Life Goes On. (aku rasa aku dah pernah explain dalam post tentang Pearl Jam dulu) Fine, I told myself. Never!(*) Sejak tu, aku jadi rebel. Rock on babeh!
Nirvana dan pengaruhnya dalam hidup aku
Firstly, the clothings. During my diploma days, aku suka sangat pakai t-shirt funky kat dalam, dan flannel shirt kat luar, tapi kalau lalu depan post pak guard tu, cam cuak sikit la. \m/
“I genuinely don’t remember who, but someone suggested writing Diet Grrrl on Frances Bean…. I asked Kurt to sit by the window and he held the baby on his knee. I asked if she was still keeping him awake at nights? He nodded slowly and his eyes focused sharply.”Stephen Sweet, Hollywood, Sept 1992
So, which songs are your fave?
Well, aku start dengan Nevermind, yang mana pada aku merupakan album terbaik band ni (bila aku kata terbaik, maknanya aku boleh dengar dari mula sampai habis tanpa skip mana2 lagu, just like what I did with The Black Parade). Kemudian, aku beli Unplugged in NY (which was fuckin’ awesome!), dan pinjam In Utero ngan member. In no particular order, 10 lagu Nirvana kegemaran aku ialah:
1. Lithium (my all-time favourite) “I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends, they're in my head I'm so ugly, but that's okay, 'cause so are you ...We've broken our mirrors Sunday morning is everyday for all I care and I'm not scared Light my candles, in a daze 'cause I've found god, Yeah, yeah !”
2. Smells Like Teen Spirit 3. In Bloom 4. Where Did You Sleep Last Night ? 5. Polly 6. About A Girl (Unplugged) 7. Rape Me ~ lagu ni adalah berkenaan invasion of privacy, bukan rape per se :P 8. Heart-Shaped Box 9. Breed 10. Drain You
“They (NME) never used the portrait of Cobain that I spent the whole night in the darkroom printing and reprinting trying to improve, bringing in the eyes more or darkening the background. I thought Kurt looked like a total lost-it rock star with the eyeliner. For a micro-second, he had given me a deep, soulful, unguarded stare.”Martyn Goodacre, London, Oct 1990.
Bak kata Goodacre “I’ve counted the picture on at least 30 front covers of various publications over the last 9 years. It was the photographer’s equivalent of getting a number one in the charts.”
Pengalaman menakutkan dengan Nirvana
Aku pernah tampal giant poster Nirvana kat dalam bilik aku masa kat kolej dulu. Nak dijadikan cerita, satu malam ni, satu kolej black-out.
Trivia:
Video klip Smell Like Teen Spirit (yang mana pernah diparodi oleh Weird Al-Yankovich utk lagu Smells Like Nirvana) telah diarahkan oleh Samuel Bayer, yang mana merupakan pengarah dua video klip MyChem – Welcome to the Black Parade dan Famous Last Words. Walaubagaimanapun, disebabkan kecederaan yang dialami ketika penggambaran klip video FLW, MyChem mengambil keputusan untuk menggunakan khidmat pengarah kegemaran mereka, Marc Webb, utk video klip single berikutnya, iaitu I Don’t Love You. (Marc juga merupakan pengarah video klip Helena, I’m Not Okay dan Ghost of You).
The Day I Became the Opening Act for My Chemical Romance!Current mood : [Soggy from the emo. The same kinda feeling you get after crying all day long] Current song : [Izinku Pergi - Kaer]
[entri ni ditulis sebelum aku kena ban hari tu :P, dan aku malas ah nak edit]
Yep, jam dah pukul 1.45 malam. Ikmal dan abahnya dah tido, and here I am, still waiting for that final load of laundry to finish. Banyak gak membasuh malam ni, with all bedsheets, pillowcases and whatnot (Thank you for the vomit, Ikmal Haniff). Sigh… ok, anyway, aku masih takleh nak tido ni, dan rasa agak bosan lepas tengok dalam lebih kurang 9 video YouTube malam ni (ya, ya, semuanya dengan Gerard and MyChem) Edit: Arghh, banyaknya video yang kena take down kat YouTube!!!! Nyesal tak donlod awal2 :(
ROTTW Isu Februari 2007
“Aku kena buat cover story psl MCR utk rottw. Nak tau sgt pasal band ni. Tlg aku bleh? Kasik info & opinion kau pasal band 2” Sms dari Yatt :: 30 December 2006 :: Jam 11.20 pagi
The word is out. Bagi peminat2 MyChem, isu ni menyajikan 8 pages of pure MCR goodness. Serta ada poster MyChem yang chun. Dan mukadimah artikel tentang MyChem tulisan Yatt [arapayung dot blogspot] ni, bukan pasal nenek Gerard Way.
Ya. Yatt tulis pasal aKu. Ya. Budak bernama Zack, peminat MyChem yang biasa2 je tu.
Thanks a lot Yatt. And no, aku tak pernah bribe dia walau setengah sen pun. Dan aku tak pernah pun ugut nak culik Deena dan minta tebusan, no, never. Tima kasih sekali lagi bang!
Who would have thought? AKU! jadi opening act untuk MyChem. Haha. Masa first time baca majalah tu kat mamak, aku tersenyum sensorang, dan sepanjang perjalanan ke pejabat aku harap takde orang perasan yang aku literally berjalan di atas angin. :)
Nitpicker!
31 tahun!? Ahem, bang, aku baru jek turn 30 bulan Oktober hari tu. Kasi la chan beb!
And another thing, ah, aku malas nak point out, tapi di bahagian Diskografi tu, kat dalam album Revenge tu, takde la lagu Don’t Stop. :P [lagu faveret aku dari album Revenge sekarang ialah To The End, Venom dan GoY]. Other than that, semua perfect! Great editing!
Dan, erm, Warner Music, are you like, outta MyChem photos? Gerard sekarang dah berambut hitam (sejak lepas Krismas hari tu), dan Yatt, dia macam kau gak, dalam proses berenti merokok (which explains the incessant gum chewing during interviews and the face is kinda chubby la sekarang ni *rasa nak cubit!* Dan aku suka gambar besar MyChem (ngan Rob Cavallo?) di muka surat 23 tu. Oh Nigel!
“The official reason is that Matt wasn't a very strong drummer, particularly onstage. They asked him to use a click track and he refused. If you watch some of their early footage, he is pointedly wearing headphones-- around his neck. In one, you see Ray attempt to pull them back on his ears, and Matt shakes them off. As for the rumor of the fallout with Mikey, I don't know the truth. I do know that Matt and Gerard were good friends, but after Matt was asked to leave, G never spoke to him again. In fact, the only person who made an attempt to contact him was Frank, and Matt fucked that up by trying to break into the equipment trailer while it was parked at Frank's mom's.To add to the problems, Matt was an auto mechanic before he joined the band. While on the road, he did some work on the tour van and by disconnecting something he ought not have, he caused their van to burn up. That was sort of the beginning of the end.”
Lain2 yang menarik dalam isu ni…
Poster besar My Chem (yang ni pun aku dah ada :\), Panic! At the Disco dan Coheed & Cambria.
Satu lagi, bila Digi decide nak buat konsert artis Malaysia and Indon (Ella + Search + INUL? Wtf? ~ correct me if I’m wrong about the line-up), I was like, wtf? Bak kata Kaiser Chiefs dalam I Predict A Riot:
Watching the people get lairy Is not very pretty I tell thee Walking through town is quite scary And not very sensible :(
Seriously, Digi, aku rasa cam nak tukar line jek. Seriau kau, sebab ada makhluk kuning dok mengikut ke sana sini *shudder* :) Dan hari tu, baru aku perasan yang opening riffs untuk lagu Acha Susahnakeja tu (Berdua Lebih Baik ke hapa), sebijik macam intro lagu State of Love & Trust. Wtf???
That’s about it la. Aku sebenarnya sibuk gak ni, tapi rasa cam takleh nak tangguhkan pos ni, :) so sebelum mojo aku hilang terus, its better late than never!
And something for all my readers, [I heart all of you. Thank you sooo much for the support!]
At the End of the World, Or the Last Thing I See..Current mood : [relieved] Current song : [It’s Not A Fashion Statement, It’s a DeathWish ~ MCR]
This entry is for Sha Shinizzle. [sorry babe, the internet really, really hates me at home :( ]
Making Screencaps 101 To make screencaps from video clips, use Microsoft's Windows Media Player. In media player, open the video file, play it and pause at the desired scene, and use the shortcut CTRL-I to create a screenshot.
Screencap will have a .jpg extension, and you can name the file anything you want. To further help you, pause the video and manual forward/reverse the play.
Selamat mencuba! Kalau tak menjadi gak, don’t fret, trouble shooter ada. (btw, akak ingat awak lagi terrer bab2 buat gif’s ni? I mean compared to me la, Teh Noob)
Ah, to continue from where we stop the other day…
The making of The Ghost of You video (now with screencaps, yo)
Apart from the cili padi manager, Brian Schecter (“Next time we’ll go somewhere dry, like the desert”] I just noticed the tall guy on the left – he’s Craig Aaronson right? (VP of A&R Reprise/ Warner Bros). Haha! Everybody wants to be in GoY video!
Mikey confessing his fear of large bodies of water…
… Frank : (laughing cheekily at Mikey) : "... but when my balls get wet, that’s when I get scared!” Gulp! Frankie? Balls? Wet?
Can we get enough of Frank Iero? Yeah, I think so too!
The first thought that crossed my mind when I saw this pic was “aik, ada deleted scene involving brides ke?” Apparently, ada couple ni organize their beach wedding on the same day of the shooting.
Ray : I can’t swim ! Bobbert (to the film crew and pats Ray) : I’ll save him.
MyChem + Uniforms + Hairpins = o.O
“Can you flip that screen around? I think I got saltwater in my eyes” Ugh, Gerard is such an attention whore!
Lastly, totally unrelated, but I just have to put this one… Frankie with his Sidekick!
Give Me A Reason To Believe…
And another reason to squee!

Some Random Notes on My Chem I am not afraid to keep on living I am not afraid to walk this world alone Honey if you stay I’ll be forgiving Nothing in this world could stop me going home… Famous Last Words ~ My Chemical Romance
31 Januari 2007 12.30 malam Rock @ Era
Kali pertama aku dengar Famous Last Words di siaran radio terrestrial. The feeling? Ah, you know how, *try to contain her fangurl glee from being too obvious*
PS: Aku sebenarnya dah lama gila tak dengar radio. Asyik dengar CD ngan mp3 player jek. Seriously, kalau dalam kereta pun aku dok tekan sana sini, trying to find ANY station that will play my favourite song.
Oh ya, just now adik aku sms aku (yeah, pukul 2 pagi, katanya FLW dah hit the No. 1 spot kat TRL) Yeah whatever la, orang ada Astro.
My two new MyChem magazines
Setelah berminggu aku tunggu Total Guitar ni masuk bargain bin (keluaran November 2006), akhirnya, hari ni, my wish came true. (Dulu harganya dekat RM40, tak kuasa aku nak beli walaupun dapat free CD how to play guitar to the songs of MCR, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Anak2 Bodom, Nirvana & Peluru Untuk Valentinku.)
Wheee!
Seriously, this haunted house story is starting to freak me out. Sometimes it DID cross my mind that Gerard had actually made a pact with the Devil, and traded his soul for the success of TBP album. I mean, how the HELL did it sound so damn good?
PS: Yeah, aku dah beli ROTTW Februari 2007. Dan *squee* tunggu entry terbaru ye adik2! :)
Ntah macam mana, lunch hour tadi, lepas beli sundae coklat kat McD, hati aku macam terasa nak gi ke Selvan’s Magstore kat BB Plaza tu. Rupa2nya…
Kerrang! keluaran November 2006!!!! Damn! Selama ni susah betul aku nak cari majalah ni kat bargain bin dia, tau2 hari ni, ada jek kat situ! (Covernya Tenacious D dan Dave Grohl). Tau apa yang fulamakatak bestnya? Dapat kalender 2007!!! Arrggghhhh [ I can’t describe the WAY I’m feeling right now. I must’ve been grinning from ear to ear since afternoon! \(^_^)/]. The other featured rockers in this calendar (in monthly order) are Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, Trivium, Ville Valo of HIM, Bullet for My Valentine, Amy Lee of Evanescence (awek tunggal dalam senarai), lostprophets, Avenged Sevenfold, Aiden, Panic! At The Disco dan Green Day. Memang sah takleh nak letak kat kubikel aku, sebab, ahem, rasanya akan mengundang kontroversi, hehe…
Well, hello!
Galaxie keluaran September 2005, yang aku jumpa masa kemas2 kubikel aku. Nasib baik tak buang atau kasi kakak cleaner. Phew! Dan lain2 majalah, SPIN March 2006, Utopia Disember 2006 dan Junk Disember 2006 [thanks Edd Vedder sebab bagitau aku pasal Junk magazine tu!]
What’s next?
Encik Yatt [arapayung dot blogspot], I’m looking at you, sir. Aku harap ROTTW dengan My Chemical Romance di muka depan, bakal menjadi salah satu prized possession aku.
The gravy is kinda, melekit macam berkanji, dan black peppernya tak pedas sangat. Utter disappointment. :(
Dua Buku, Dua Ulasan, Dua Puluh Empat Blogger Terus terang aku cakap, aku malas nak membaca. (Oh please.) Selain novel-novel grafik GempakStarz (my secret indulgence) aku juga suka membaca buku2 motivasi hasil tulisan Dr Tuah, buku2 agama terbitan Darul Nu’man, dan sejak kebelakangan ni, buku2 dari penerbitan PTS/ PTS Millenia (sepupu aku editor di situ kalau tak salah aku) ~ aku sedang membaca ‘Daripada Baik Kepada Hebat – 30 Cara Berfikir Untuk Menjadi Eksekutif Cemerlang’, hasil tulisan Samsudin Wahab. Bagus dibaca kalau kau mahu meningkatkan prestasi diri di tempat kerja. Serius.
JIAN
Bayangkan orang2 kampung yang selalu main dam kat kedai kopi tu, tiba2 menjadi seperti zombi2 ganas ala 28 Days Later atau Dawn of the Dead!
Pergh! Tabik beb. Aku masa 17 tahun nak menulis karangan Bahasa Melayu pun terkial-kial, inikan pulak nak siapkan DAN terbitkan sebuah novel.
Sedikit tak best : Typo errors ada, tapi tak banyak. Jelas sekali pada perkataan-perkataan Inggeris. Jelas Fadz pada aku ~ “the irony is, the mistakes are done by the editor!!! sebab editor tu nak tukar byk perkataan2 inggeris (kan dbp) yg aku guna pada BM, tapi akhirnya dia 'give up' (dats why it took years to be published) dan biarkan inggerisnya, dengan efek yg tidak baik.” Ah, ini kes kalau sesuatu benda tu tak rosak, nak buat apa betulkan?
Apa pun, kami tunggu kemunculan buku kedua kau Fadz! :)
JIWA KACAU
“Ini bukan kerja korporat, ini kerja penulis akar umbi rakyat marhaen” Tok Rimau
Penulis: 23 orang mamat2 & minah2 pengendali weblog, kebanyakannya blogger selebriti seperti Tok Rimau, Mat Jan, The artiste formerly known as Si Naga Origami, AyobKelubi, Abdullah Jones, Op dan ramai lagi yang bernaung di bawah komuniti GengJurnal. Terbitan: Tahun 2005, oleh Mak Itam Network Enterprise Rege: Tambah lagi RM2.50, kau dah ada duit mas kawin dah kalau calon isteri kau dari negeri Johor! Beli di mana? : Beli dari Alip aka Don aka AyobKelubi, melalui pos.
First of all, aku hargai sangat Don, yang masih sempat menghantarkan buku ni kepada aku, walaupun baru aje ditimpa dugaan (aku masih lagi simpan SMS bertarikh 15 Februari 2006 tu Don).
Apsal baldi?
Adakah tafsiran SiNagaNaga (pereka cover Jiwa Kacau) tentang kehidupan ni serupa jek dengan aku? Pesimistik? (If life is puke, then we are the buckets?) :P
Intro yang best!
Aku tak dapat nak describe kata pengantar 4 muka surat hasil tulisan Saharil Hasnin Sanin tu. Cukup la aku kata, kalau kau baca mukadimahnya, kau akan terus teruja untuk terus membaca.
So, overall camne?
RIP, My Favourite Weekend Companion...:-( Masuk ni, genap la 2 minggu aku tak baca Weekend Mail. Sebabnya? Keluaran 4-5 November 2006 nih…
Ze Front Page
Ze Sport Page (FOOTBALLESTS?!?!?!!? Wtf is that?)
Seperti juga Galaxie, aku dah baca Weekend Mail sejak awal 90-an lagi. Masa tu namanya Malay Mail / Sunday Mail masing2 untuk hari Sabtu dan Ahad. Tak pernah miss, sebab it’s kinda like a tabloid. Even kalau aku balik kampung pun, ayah aku tetap akan belikan aku senaskhah sebab dia tahu, aku suka baca paper ni. Sejak imejnya bertukar menjadi Weekend Mail ni, aku rasa ia lebih seronok dibaca dengan kertas yang lebih berkualiti, tapi pada harga yang sama (kinda like reading someone’s blog, i.e Amir Hafizi, Fly Guy & Fabes, etc), cuma aku kurang senang dengan feature terbarunya iaitu Campus Babe (awek2 student yang seksi2). I dunno why they kept pushing the envelope by publishing the said issue on sex (you’re asking for it, man!); you have to admit, media Malaysia tak sesuai untuk benda2 mcm ni.
Tapi ada sesuatu yg buat aku mcm tak puas hati, iaitu komen TPM tentang Weekend Mail, something in the line of “Diorang tak sepatutnya siarkan artikel2 macam tu. Sekarang ni, apa yang orang tak tau pun dah jadi tau.”
I beg your pardon Sir, tapi bukankah ITU matlamat education? Memberitahu kepada yang tak tahu?
I’m definitely gonna keep this paper as a memento. R.I.P, my beloved weekend companion, at least for now. I’ll miss you. :(
Soalan Haneem Tentang Buku2 Trivia Haneem, salah seorang sahabat dari Friendster ada bertanya tentang buku2 reference yang aku baca masa nak masuk KK hari tuh. (sori la Haneem, lama gila akak peram soalan awak nih).
Alhamdulillah, aku dibesarkan oleh seorang ayah yang sangat cintakan buku (ayah aku kata, masa aku tiga tahun, aku dah boleh hafal nama presiden US of A masa tu, Jimmy Carter gamaknya). Sayangnya kami 9 beradik ni bukan setakat baca, tapi juga (literally) loved them to death! Habih hancur semua.
Walaubagaimana pun, info trivia tentang Malaysia amat kurang sekali. Aku ternampak Akmal (agen yang menang Kia Spektra musim kedua KK tu) ada membaca satu buku terbitan tempatan ni sebelum bertanding, tapi aku tak berapa ingat tajuknya. Anyway, here goes…
The Biggest Trivia Quiz Book in the World (Arcturus Publishing Ltd, 2000) Berharga RM29.90, aku beli di MPH KLCC pada 1/6/2001 (ye, aku tulis tarikh beli di buku2 yang aku beli, tapi kekadang terlupa gak).
The Second Empire Movie Miscellany (108 Years of Movie Trivia in 108 Pages) ~ compiled by Kim Newman and Ian Freer. Biasanya aku akan beli Empire bila dah masuk bargain bin (lewat 2-3 bulan), di mana harganya cuma RM10, berbanding keluaran terbaru yang berharga RM25-RM28 senaskhah, depending where you buy them.
The Trivia Quiz Bible (Indispensable Facts for the Perplexed Puzzler and the Struggling Scholar) ~ compiled by Market House Books Ltd. (Oxford University Press, 1999) Yang ni banyak menolong aku masa masuk Kunci Khazanah dulu, sampaikan ada fellow contestant yang pinjam buku ni untuk difotostat!
General Knowledge Quiz Book and Quizmaster’s Guide by Jace (Elliot Right Way Book, MCMLXXXVI ~ ntah, aku malas nak cari nombor Arabiknya) serta The Family Fun Quiz Book by Angela M Cockerill (Elliot Right Way Book, MCMLXXXV ~ ditto) Masing2 mengandungi 1,000++ soalan pengetahuan am tentang sejarah, literature, politik, sports, geography, dan bermacam2 lagi, beserta dengan jawapan di bahagian belakang. Contoh soalan : 757. (Music) What is another name for the character Figaro? (Answer: The Barber of Seville)
Trivia Mania ~ Television Mengandungi 1,099 soalan tentang siri2 TV sebelum tahun 1984 (M*A*S*H, Kung Fu, I Love Lucy, Bewitched, Get Smart, Dragnet, you get the idea), aku beli/ sewa di satu kedai India di Central Market (kira buat harta la ni, sebab cuma RM7.00 aje).
To Score Points With Your Boss by Alan R. Schonberg.
Everything is available online, as long as you know how and what to Google! Good luck!
Tapi most of the time, aku ni kira mcm Man Laksa la.
Galaxie magazine, issue dated 1 November 2006 listed these 10 guys as the Hottest Hunk On TV. The list, in no particular order, is as below:

TV boyfriends. Yup. That’s the new term coined for these beautiful people. They kept you glued in front of the telly, they made you fork out your hard earned dosh for the (pirated) box-sets (so you can watch them over and over again, on slow motion or just pausing at those favourite moments). And no, you’re not obliged to make them meet your parents. Heck. They didn’t even know you existed!
Here’s my own list in no particular order (well, ok, Michael Scofield is still at the first place), and the pros and cons IF they become my ACTUAL bf in real world. (Hey, I can dream, can’t I ?) And do click on the pics to know more about the characters.
And for the record, my selection is just like Sara Tancredi’s ~ “I don't tend to go for the nice guys. I like the ones with the deep-seated emotional issues I can internalize and make my own.”
The Smartest Romeo In Joliet Michael Scofield as played by Wentworth Miller from Prison Break On-screen love interest: Dr Sara Tancredi Pros: He’s loyal, highly articulate, intelligent and extremely sexay! Cons: He’s an escaped convict! And considering the conspiracy surrounding his brother, you might just end up like Laetitia Barris or Veronica Donovan.
Lost In Your Smile James 'Sawyer’ Ford as played by Josh Holloway from Lost On-screen love interest: Kate Austen Pros & Cons: Haven’t watched enough Lost episodes to know this.
Dr Cane (and very Able) Dr Gregory House as played by Hugh Laurie from House M.D On-screen love interest: Stacy Warner and some fling with one of his duckling, Dr Allison Cameron. Pros: Ah, to have a ride on that motorbike… Cons: Look at what he did to Stacy.
The S'Mulder’ing Special Agent Agent Fox Mulder as played by David Duchovny from The X-Files On-screen love interest: Too preoccupied in finding his sister to get involved in any relationships, or maybe some platonic relationship with his partner, Agent Dana Scully. Pros & Cons: I don’t think there’s any. This dude is far too busy dealing with his demons.
The Cutest Doctor. Ever. Dr Robert Chase as played by Jesse Spencer from House M.D On-screen love interest: Uhm, not known at this moment (up to end of Season 2 anyway). One brief encounter with colleague Dr Allison Cameron. Pros: Cute, young doctor. Who can resist that? Cons: Ahem, you might hurt yourself, considering he (allegedly) used to be into BDSM.
The Troy Boy Surgeon Dr Christian Troy as played by Julian McMahon from nip/tuck. On-screen love interest: Hmm… let me check, Kimber Henry, Julia McNamara (his partner’s wife!) and almost a new babe in every episode. Pros: Free lipo! Cons: He might just trade you in for a Porsche! Plus, you can’t possibly handle his sexual addiction. Especially if you’re fugly.
Fallin Into You Nick Fallin as played by Simon Baker from The Guardian On-screen love interest: Louisa ‘Lulu’ Archer Pros & Cons: Sigh… haven’t watched enough episodes to know this too. Heavenly Vamp Angel/ Angelus as played by David Boreanaz from Buffy the Vampire Slayer/ Angel On-screen love interest: Buffy Summers Pros & Cons: I dunno. I just have this thing for vampires.
A Ross In Any Other Name… Dr Doug Ross as played by George Clooney from ER On-screen love interest: Nurse Carol Hathaway Pros: He’s great with kids! Cons: A womaniser, duh.
The Rogue-ish Captain Tightpants Captain Malcolm Reynolds as played by Nathan Fillion from Firefly On-screen love interest: Ship Companion, Inara Serra Pros: He takes you to places you’ve never been before. Plus, if he’s in the mood, he’d buy you some frilly dress and take you to a ball! Cons: The Alliance. Gorramnit!
Honorable mentions: Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) of Supernatural Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) of Smallville Fendi (Zed Zaidi) of Sembilu (Kasih) Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) of Dexter Dr John Dorian (Zach Braff) of Scrubs Agent Davis Lee (Ian Anthony Dale) of Surface
PS: Oh yeah, from Sarah D. Bunting, co-author of Television Without Pity: 752 Things We Love to Hate (and Hate to Love) About TV (Quirk Books, $15.95), what does your TV boyfriend says about you:
Wentworth Miller, "Prison Break" His real-world girlfriend "likes a smart guy. And [she] likes them a little bit rock 'n' roll, because he's covered in tattoos for the show. Likes a crafty guy with a plan. And she likes an element of danger."
And for those fans of Dr. McDreamy.. "The woman who likes McDreamy is kind of a masochist. He can't make up his mind. Maybe she needs to look past the skin-deep part and realize this is a toxic relationship and stand up for herself and her needs. Run away." :-) So. Who's YOUR TV bf? (or gf for that matter)
I'm a number cruncher, married and a mother to 2 handsome young boys ~ Ikmal & Nabil. Also a self-confessed movie freak, a walking dictionary of useless facts and I just love swapping postcards.
