I Need Some Floo Powder. Pronto!
Wah hey!
Assalamualaikum & how’s everybody doin?
I’ve just recovered from a flu (Caturday, and I was in bed all day, bah!). I hate taking my flu meds sebab ngantuk *yawns* and I just can’t keep my eyes open. My next monthly check-up will be on the 25th and after that, I have a two-days course on Financial Instruments *yawn! from boredom*.
On the whole Parry Hotter, no, Hey! Reporter, no, uhm, Harry Potter hypez…

Okay, so we know, MPH, Popular/ Harris and Times have decided not to sell the book because Carrefour and Tesco has offered the book for a mere RM69.90 (instead of the original price of RM109.90), so what’s a girl to do? I think I can still wait for the paperback version to come out. Lagipun, aku masih lagi belum habis baca HBP, so peeps, pls keep the spoilers to yourselves okay! (I feel really shitty sebab takleh nak baca dalam tren, kalau dapat tempat duduk, I feel really sick)

Have a fro-tastic year ahead! And here's something for the Man with the Plan aka The Quiet Genius...
PS: Husband aku beria2 kata yang MCR akan drop by KL somewhere in December and he sneered and LOL’ed at me, saying that too bad, I’m pregnant :( , otherwise I’m freakin ecstatic. Can somebody clarify this for me? Sebab aku dah check semua source2 yang boleh dipercayai, and found nothing, except that I know they’re coming back to Australia and NZ in December and will probably drop by Thailand for a gig somewhere in February 2008, so maaaayyyybe, and I mean, maybe diorang akan singgah KL? I’m keeping my eyes + fingers crossed…

Films Update!
*** MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR ALL FILMS ***
The Fountain (2006)
Seriously, aku tak dapat bayangkan kalau Brad Pitt yang berlakon dalam filem ni, instead of Hugh Jackman. Cate Blanchett is okay (mungkin sebab beliau berwajah klasik), sebab, selepas Galadriel (LOTR) dan Queen Elizabeth aku boleh bayangkan wataknya sebagai Queen Isabella atau Izzi Creo.
Filem ini mengisahkan kisah cinta tiga zaman di antara Tomas/ Dr Tom Creo dengan Queen Isabella/ Izzi Creo (lakonan tunang tuan pengarah (Darren Aronofsky) iaitu Rachel Weisz, yang merupakan salah sorang pelakon kegemaran aku sejak filem The Mummy).
In a nutshell, ini kefahaman aku tentang filem ni (may contain spoilers for those who haven’t seen this film).
Tahun 1500 – Kisah antara Tomas (the Conquistador)/ Queen Isabella.
Ini merupakan kisah yang sedang ditulis oleh Izzi Creo dalam buku The Fountain, tentang bagaimana bermulanya pencarian terhadap The Tree of Life, sebatang pokok yang dikatakan boleh memberikan kehidupan abadi kepada seseorang. Sebelum mati, Izzi meminta Tom menghabiskan buku tersebut.
Tahun 2000 – Dr Tom Creo/ Izzi Creo
Pada pendapat aku, mereka berdua merupakan kelahiran semula Tomas dan Queen Isabella. Dr Creo bertungkus lumus mencari penawar kanser bagi menyelamatkan isterinya, Izzi dan secara tak sengaja, seseorang telah terjumpa secebis sampel daripada pokok tersebut. Walaubagaimana pun, isterinya mati tetapi berpandukan buku The Fountain tulisan isterinya, Tom telah menanam sebatang pokok di atas kubur isterinya, dengan harapan dapat menghidupkan semula Izzi pada suatu masa yang akan datang.
Tahun 2500 – Tom/ Izzi
Dengan teknologi yang canggih, Tom telah membina sebuah sfera yang boleh menempatkannya bersama2 “pohon Izzi” dan terbang ke angkasa, menuju ke sebuah nebula yang dipanggil Xibalba, dimana dipercayai oleh masyarakat Maya bahawa jasad yang telah mati akan hidup semula apabila sampai ke bintang tersebut. Dalam perjalanan inilah beliau sering diganggu oleh kisah2 lampau, selain drp bayangan Izzi yang memintanya untuk “Finish it”. Di sini, ia bukan hanya bermaksud menghabiskan buku karya akhir beliau tu, tetapi Izzi meminta agar Tom menamatkan riwayatnya agar mereka dapat sama2 bersemadi dengan aman. (oh, btw, Tom telah hidup lebih drp 500 tahun dengan memakan cebisan2 drp “pohon Izzi”, kerana beliau masih berharapan yang suatu hari Izzi akan hidup semula).

Driving Lessons (2006)
Hah! They made a big fuss about the Harry/ Cho kiss, tapi dalam filem ni, Rupert Grint bukan saja kiss, tapi juga, ahem, cherry-nya telah di’pop’ oleh seorang awek yang aku rasa lebih tua daripadanya. And, and he swears! ZOMG!!! Take that, Daniel Radcliffe! (Okay, so aku masih belum tengok December Boys, filem Dan yang bakal keluar penghujung tahun ni).
Filem arahan Jeremy Brock ni mengisahkan tentang persahabatan di antara Ben Marshall (Rupert), seorang remaja yang pendiam, pemalu dan mempunyai seorang ibu yang sangat mengongkong dengan Evie Walton, seorang bekas pelakon opera yang mempunyai watak yang sangat berlainan daripadanya (lakonan Mrs Weasley aka Julie Walters). Think of it as a newer version of Harold and Maude.
Ben dan Evie saling melengkapi dan sama2 mengubah persepsi kehidupan daripada perspektif masing2. Ben, ingin lari dari kongkongan ibunya (lakonan Laura Linney), sementara Evie perlukan seorang sahabat yang dapat mengembalikan keyakinan beliau untuk berlakon semula.
Honestly, aku tak berapa gemar dengan soundtracknya (mainly consists of folk-infused tunes and some songs by Sufjan Stevens), dan aku kurang selesa dengan alegori2 agama Kristian yang sangat2 banyak dalam filem ni (I just skipped most of the parts, anyway).
A refreshing change from the usual Ron Weasley, even though he can’t get rid of that Ron-smug in most of the scenes.

Hot Fuzz (2007)
Seriously, the last time I laughed this hard was when watching Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. I really mean LOL, bukan setakat grin atau giggle, man. *wipes tears* Sekali lagi, team yang membawakan kita filem RomZom (Rom-Com with zombies), Shaun of the Dead iaitu Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg dan Nick Frost, kembali lagi dan berjaya menggeletek penonton dengan lawak British/ spoof yang selamba. Kali ni ditambah dengan aksi2 hebat dan tembak-menembak ala2 Point Break dan Bad Boys ii!
Kisahnya, Nick (Pegg) merupakan seorang anggota polis yang sangat cemerlang tak hengat di London. Namun begitu, ramai lak yang kurang senang dengan kebolehannya itu (termasuk bos2nya) dan telah menukarkannya untuk berkhidmat di sebuah kawasan luar bandar terpencil di Sandford, di mana kadar jenayahnya teramatlah rendah sekali. Nick terpaksa berpasangan dengan Danny Butterman (Frost), anak cif polis di situ, yang sangat2 menggemari filem2 polis yang penuh dengan aksi tembak menembak dan kejar mengejar. Namun ada sesuatu yang berlaku di perkampungan tersebut, dimana ia tidaklah seaman yang di sangka.
Wow. This is just how I liked it! Honestly I personally think that a comedy is funnier if it’s inter-woven with spoofs, homages and references. And in this film, man, banyaknya! Funny bits ~ underaged drinker #3, P.I Staker, Danny trying to imitate Nick by jumping over the fences, spoof Point Break (Danny tak tergamak nak tembak ayahnya sendiri), “You Mothers!”, the Cornetto and the brain-freeze bit dan haha! Banyak lagi la. Worth watching twice, just for the LOL’s.
Oh ya, watch out for uncredited cameos by Peter Jackson and Cate Blanchett. Hilarious! And yes, the song during the closing credits pun best!

Being a Harry Potter fangirl in real life sucks. BIG TIME! Why? Sebab kau takde member yang boleh dibawak bercerita tentang dunia Harry, Hogwarts dan the whole wizarding world. Bah! Muggles!
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX (2007)
Date: 13 July 2007 (woo hoo lagi 10 hari ke birthday Dan Radcliffe yang ke 18!!!)
Time : 12.30 pm (I bought my tickets yesterday sebab tak larat nak rush2)
Venue : GSC, Berjaya Times Square
Kudapan : Mineral water + small caramel popcorn + mentos to combat the biggest evil of all- all day sickness
Watched it with : An invisible Frank Iero, hehe…

Dia: Kak, ni apa kat dalam plastik ni?
Aku: Err, air, kenapa?
Dia: Kak, air dari luar takleh bawak masuk ke dalam ni.

Well, aku malas nak tulis pepanjang sebab, well, as a huge Harry Potter fan, kau pasti dah a) baca buku dia yang tebal bagak macam batu bata tu, buat kali ke-18, b) dah tau serba sedikit tentang jalan cerita dan watak2nya sebab dah lupa berapa banyak trailer yang kau tengok sebelum nonton filem ni dan c) hehe… kau cuma nak tengok Harry kiss Cho, right? Admit it, muggle! Anyway, here’s some of my two sen for the film…
Harry: Well, hello horse-boy! Phew, this film is so full of sweaty and heavy-breathing, post-puberty Harry (and not to mention the close-ups of his neck, screaming ‘bite me!!!!’) I think I’m gonna havewet dreams nightmares! Emo Harry is angrier than in the previous movies. Blame it on hormones, blame it on the scar which was given by Voldy, but the boy who lived is back!
Bling-bling Dudders aka Dudley Dursley ~ Wassup, white boy? And I was a bit shocked with Aunt Petunia’s mini dress, like whoa! MILF!
Dolores Umbridge:
She’s oh-so-evil, also into cats (ooh, ooh, ooh)

Ron : Kurang menonjol macam filem2 sebelumnya. Aku suka dia semakin protective towards Hermione. Sweet!
Fred & George : Seperti juga Dumbledore’s exit in style, aku suka babak terakhir kembar cute ni di Hogwarts.
Ginny: I can’t think of anything but “Kelly Clarkson!!”. Man, the resemblance is so uncanny.
Percy: Aku rasa by this time Percy semacam dah putus hubungan dengan keluarganya, sebab dah join Ministry of Magic. Kisahnya juga tak di elaborate dalam filem.
Snape + Lupin + Sirius in one room?!?! Bloody hell! This is what slashes are made of! *squee!*
Occlumency session between Snape and Harry – just like what I’ve imagined. And I can totally understand his feelings when Harry spoke highly of his father, only to discover that James Potter is actually an arrogant bully. Babak ni menaikkan lagi saham Snape dalam buku aku (I mean, apart from being this emo teacher with cool trenchcoat).
Luna Lovegood & Nymphadora (“Don’t call me Nymphadora!”) Tonks ~ Argh!! I love these two babes!!! Heh, kalau la Tonks yang jadi kakak ipar Ron, instead of Fleur, alangkah bestnya.
Neville Longbottom is no longer Nerdville yang dorky, weak dan selalu menjadi bahan ejekan. In fact, sejak aku tau yang mak bapaknya (yang dulu merupakan antara anggota asal the Order of the Phoenix) masuk St Mungo dek kena Crucius spell oleh Bellatrix Lestrange, aku rasa dia dah setaraf Harry, ooops, this is as per Half Blood Prince okay, next round boleh discuss. And (physically) speaking about Bellatrix Lestrange, aku rasa ada similarity dengan watak Marla Singer dari filem Fight Club, maybe sebab dedua scary looking.
Voldy in Armani!!! Fitch in uhm, inquisitor uniform!! Dunno about you, tapi aku rasa sejak filem GoF, Fitch boleh jadi resident pak lawak Hogwarts, instead of this feared caretaker of Hogwarts. Funny bits ~ shaking the picture frame and tertidur sambil makan masa tunggu depan pintu bilik Room of Requirement di mana Dumbledore’s Army sedang berlatih.
Draco & The Malfoys
Lucius is the bad-a$$ here, dan aku rasa that makes up for the appearance of Draco yang cuma sekejap tu. And I personally think my fave pureblood wizard boy dah tak sejahat macam dulu dan kemunculannya hanya mengundang gelak drp penonton (esp masa babak bunga api Fred & George tu). Oh ya, sapa perasan kemunculan Lucius Malfoy dalam topeng Death Eater tu ada iras2 Darth Vader? Serius, man, aku dah nak terjerit “Vader!” dalam panggung.

The Ministry of Magic – all that I can say is FUCKIN AWESOME!!! Masa baca buku tu, seriously, aku tak sangka diorang akan buat MoM semajestik ni, I mean, aku bayangkan bangunan yang usang macam Hogwarts, kusam and whatnot, tapi serius, aku memang impressed! Aku rasa Quidditch World Cup dalam GoF pun tak membuat rahang aku jatuh camni. Oh, and Azkaban too! And speaking of Quidditch, haha, nasib baik takde! Tapi aku a bit pissed sebab takde scene kat St Mungo’s Hospital. Tak cukup budget kot?
Damn. I could go on and on when it comes to Harry Potter. Apa pun aku bagi filem ni ****/*****.
Kudos to David Yates yang berjaya menterjemahkan buku bagak 766 muka surat ni kepada 168 minit yang sangat menyeronokkan!

Updates!
Assalamualaikum & Good Day everybody!
Sorry for the lack of updates. Mak busy gila. And don’t even mention the weekends. Every weekend ada wedding, dan dalam cuaca yang panas terik ni, biasanya kitaorang tiga beranak tidur je lepas makan nasi minyak, sampai la solat asar.

Congratulations to my uni-mate, Yus, yang baru selamat melangsungkan perkahwinan Sabtu lepas (07.07.07) dan juga untuk adik aku Azli, yang baru je memulakan sesi pengajiannya di USM Kubang Kerian. Be gentle on those bodies, okay, dan jangan lupa solat! (Mak aku cerita pasal mayat2 yang datang dari India dan ada tu, takde kepala, phew! Nasib baik la aku ambik akaun dulu. Lagipun, my people skills is almost zero, hehe…)

In October, the hard-partying, grill-sporting dudes in Avenged Sevenfold will release the self-titled follow-up to 2005's City of Evil, the band's breakout LP that's sold close to 810,000 copies in the U.S. alone. The album is the California metalcore act's first attempt at self-producing, but according to frontman M. Shadows, that wasn't always the plan.
"We were going to do it with Rob Cavallo," said Shadows, referring to the producer behind Green Day's 2004 LP American Idiot and My Chemical Romance's 2006 effort The Black Parade. "It was such a great match — he loved the songs we'd been working on. But he was too busy working on Kid Rock's next record, and he wasn't going to be able to work on ours until later on in the year.
Ada dengar berita tak, yang diorang bakal datang Jakarta & Singapore bulan Ogos nih? (Aug 7, 2007 - Tennis Indoor Arena, Jakarta and Aug 9, 2007 - Fort Canning, Singapore). Phew! On AFI ~ I just love Davey’s new hair. Dan album baru Blaqk Audio (side project Davey dan Jade) berjudul CexCells, bakal dirilis pada 14 Ogos 2007. Blaqk Audio features Havok as lyricist and vocalist, with Puget writing all music and programming the synthesizers. Hell yeah! I just hoped that it’ll sound somewhat like DecemberUnderground. My two favourite vegetables, oops, vegetarians at Live Earth…

Gerard dah putus tunang dgn Eliza Siep aka Eliza Cuts (dia yang sebelah kiri tu). No more ring-flashing, yay! (Sebelum ni dia dok tayang cincin dalam video klip IDLY dan Teenagers).
Mikey, seen here sans make-up bersama isteri terchenta, Alicia, dikatakan akan keluar dr MCR untuk menyambung pengajiannya di kolej (wtf??). Aku rasa these two slobs akan sesama menggemukkan diri kat rumah sambil membela kucing2 kesayangan. Seriously, aku tak kisah kalau Matt Cortez gantikan tempatnya dalam Projekt Revolution dan seterusnya menjadi anggota tetap MCR.

Bob Bryar tengah sibuk kumpul material untuk mengajar aku tentang cara2 menguruskan badan (selepas bersalin) sebab dia dah hilang 30lbs sejak join MyChem.

morning all-day sickness. Tapi memang serius la, maybe because it’s my second one kot. Aku tak se’prudent’ masa Ikmal dulu :( For the last two nights, aku bantai durian (tapi tak la sampai 10 ulas sekali makan) dan seriously man, I kinda lost my appetite la semenjak dua menjak ni.
Oh yep. Aku try guna Chinese Lunar Calendar ni, and whaddaya know? I think most probably this one is a girl (it’s said to be 99% accurate). Bak kata adik aku – Helena! (Well, aku tatau whether aku patut guna nama nenek Gerard Way untuk anak aku, or Frank’s fiancé (Jamia). No way man. Apa pun, aku harap semua berjalan as planned, Insya Allah.
PS: Seriously, aku blur sikit on how to raise a girl. I mean, will she be a mirror image of me, or the complete opposite? Will she grow up wanting to be a boy, (just like me while I was going thru puberty), and hating all pink, frilly girly things? Will she be Zack Jr or is she gonna be a totally different person than I am. I dread to think about it. Srsly.
So, what’s on your idiot box?
I’m currently on my nip/tuck marathon (am trying to finish Season 3 and 4 on DVD before Season 5 starts sometime this year), and to tell you the truth, lagi banyak aku tengok, lagi banyak babak2 wtf? yang aku jumpa. Gila. Semua sekali gila, daripada Matt (aku rasa one of these days, Michael Jackson akan muncul sebagai cameo dan try to claim paternity daripada Christian), Julia (krim rahsia kat spa tu – sumpah sampai mati pun aku takkan try, walaupun boleh buat kau jadi muda ke hapa. And the way she treated her mother? OMG.) and well, don’t get me started on Quentin, Kimber and most important of all ~ the patients. I’m still at the episode Joy Kringle (Santa’s wife who just couldn’t get rid of the last 15 lbs of her weight- only to find something so shocking, aku rasa macam menyesal lak tengok). Oh yeah, Julia baru dapat tau dia pregnant (anak sapa?) dan Christian & Sean (well, for me, McNamara/ Troy will always be McNamara/ Troy (plus Liz). I hated Quentin so much (so, okay, aku dah terbaca beberapa spoilers) and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the episodes.
I got a new hobby! No. Actually, I’ve resurrected my old hobby!
Sending and receiving letters/ postcards, as well as updating my stamps collection. Last two weeks, ada la sorang kakak ni (kerja nearby my office), takde angin, takde ribut, dia bagi aku satu stack setem2 dari NZ. I was like, so happy, I bought her and her colleague something from my hometown. I’ve been collecting stamps since I was 10, and I still have them with me. Cuma, aku tertinggal koleksi poskad kat rumah dan aku harap2 mak aku tak ‘terbuang’. Oh ya, thru LJ too, aku dah join beberapa community yang berkaitan, dan dah dapat beberapa pen-pals (mostly from US of A).
So, kalau ada sesiapa yang terasa nak swap postcards or stamps (tak kira la, kalau kau nak swap dengan stamps ke, gambar2 artis ke, poster ke), just email me, okay!

Oh yeah, Julia baru dapat tau dia pregnant (anak sapa?) dan Christian & Sean (well, for me, McNamara/ Troy will always be McNamara/ Troy (plus Liz). I hated Quentin so much (so, okay, aku dah terbaca beberapa spoilers) and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the episodes.
I got a new hobby! No. Actually, I’ve resurrected my old hobby!
Sending and receiving letters/ postcards, as well as updating my stamps collection. Last two weeks, ada la sorang kakak ni (kerja nearby my office), takde angin, takde ribut, dia bagi aku satu stack setem2 dari NZ. I was like, so happy, I bought her and her colleague something from my hometown. I’ve been collecting stamps since I was 10, and I still have them with me. Cuma, aku tertinggal koleksi poskad kat rumah dan aku harap2 mak aku tak ‘terbuang’. Oh ya, thru LJ too, aku dah join beberapa community yang berkaitan, dan dah dapat beberapa pen-pals (mostly from US of A).
So, kalau ada sesiapa yang terasa nak swap postcards or stamps (tak kira la, kalau kau nak swap dengan stamps ke, gambar2 artis ke, poster ke), just email me, okay!

Khabarnya Cillian Murphy akan rejoin the cast untuk The Dark Knight ni. Yay! Kehadiran Scarecrow sudah cukup membuat aku menonton filem ni di panggung. (Well, dan Enche Bale sekali le).

More Than Meets The Eye, and teh Freakin Bladder
Imdb’s daily poll question for today…
Aside from the cost of the ticket, what is the top way that a theater (not an audience) can ruin your movie-going experience?
The poll maker has given a few options like too many non-movie related commercials prior to the movie, too few/ many trailers prior to the movie, problems with the sound/screen but for me, the ultimate spoil-sport thingy that annoys the hell outta me when watching a film on the big screen is a full bladder. You know, sometimes you’ve made a point to go to the loo just before the movie started but half (or three-quarter way) thru it, you suddenly feel the urge to go. You cannot tahan, you already feel like wetting your pants (well, no thanks to the incessant munching of popcorn and mineral water), but you sat still, not wanting to miss any freakin’ scene because you’ve forked out like, RM11 of your hard-earned dosh to watch this film and you know that you won’t have this opportunity to watch it again because you’re too freakin busy and shit. You know that feeling? Hell yeah!!!
Transformers (2007)

10 Things about this films:
1. My first reaction upon seeing this film ~ Sucre!. Haha, aku tatau yang Amaury Nolasco ada berlakon sekali. Nampak stereotypical though, sebab wataknya tak banyak berbeza dengan Fernando Sucre dalam Prison Break.
2.The unnecessary long, funny scenes ? Especially when the robots are hiding at Sam’s house, masa Josh Duhamel nak buat call thru that annoying international operator and that black hacker dude. Mungkin sebab ada budak2 kot? Anyway, aku suka part Sam’s Happy Time. Hiya Shia!
3. And speaking of Shia LaBeouf, dia merupakan salah seorang child star yang aku suka walaupun dah grow up to be, uhm, grown updashing anak ikan yang cute terbabom child star (lain2 ialah Lucas Black dan Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Macaulay Culkin? Well, aku suka dia dalam Party Monster, hehe…
4. Megan Fox nampak macam terlalu tua untuk hero kita. Atau Sam yang terlalu baby-faced?
5. Fight antara Autobots dan Decepticons kat tengah2 bandar tu, macam selalu dah aku tengok, cuma tukar robot dengan Godzilla atau King Kong atau mutan. CGI-nya agak kelam kabut sebab aku tak nampak robot mana lawan mana.
6. Satu lagi perkara yang membuat aku tak puas hati, ialah macam mana Sam/ Mikaela tak patah tengkuk atau tulang2 atau calar balar walaupun duduk dalam tangan Optimus Prime. The same thing that bugs me from seeing Naomi Watts in Peter Jackson’s King Kong.
7. Aku tau StarScream merupakan robot yang bad-a$$ tapi aku rasa wataknya dalam filem ni kurang menonjol. In fact, except for Barricade dan Frenzy yang muncul pada awal2 filem, Decepticons lain2 tak muncul sehinggalah pada tiga suku terakhir filem ni. Dan masa ni le jugak aku dah tak tahan nak terkucil, tapi tahan jugak sebab bak kata Aerosmith la “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”.
8. Is it just me or e-bay dan Michael Bay tu adik beradik ? :P
9. Kata Smiley ~"Banyaknya propaganda!" Heh, whaddaya expect from an American film? Heh, lepas ni aku nak suggest dia nonton Team America: World Police. At least ada puppet sex! :D
10. Wah lau eh, walaupun hari Jumaat tengah hari, panggung dekat nak penuh dan aku sangat2 takjub tengok begitu ramai lelaki2 Melayu (Islam) terakhir yang ponteng solat Jumaat sebab nak tengok Transformers. Lebih takjub daripada CGI yang digunakan dalam filem ni.

Am gonna watch it again with Ikmal, Insya Allah, but I have to censor certain parts la. And the soundtrack is freakin awesome!!! (SP + LP FTW!)
