The Boyz From Oz
I don’t know what they’re having down there (I mean in Australia/ NZ), but I LOOOVEE actors from Down Under. My Top 4 are as follows:-
Julian McMahon
I first noticed him as Cole Turner aka Mr Phoebe Halliwell from Charmed and now I’m addicted to Nip/Tuck, thanks to the presence of this hottie. As Dr Christian Troy, he kept me glued to my seat, even though the one shown on our national television is brutally censored by the powers –that- be. From my observation, he is one of the actors that gets better looking as he grew older (e.g. Kevin Costner, David Duchovny). His early photos suck! This son of a former Australian Prime Minister was once married to Dannii Minogue. I really, really look forward to his latest movie – Fantastic Four, where he played the role of Dr Doom. (Villain lagi?!)
"I like the oppourtunity to play characters who have these dark sides but make the audience empathise with them. You want them to think there is some kind of sweeter, softer side to it."
Russell Crowe
Alahai…dah lama aku tak dengar berita ttg mamat sorang ni. I had a crush on him ever since that Coliseum scene in Gladiator (2000) – “Are you not entertained?” Wow, I AM entertained, Mr Crowe! I certainly am! He had come a long way since his Romper Stomper days. One of his up-coming projects is titled Cinderella Man. Aik? Mr Cinderella ke? Rest assured, there will be no Erra Fazira or Yusri KRU involved.
"All that stuff, this public persona of me - let's call him 'the wild man' - that is not helpful. It doesn't make me more of a box office draw. It's the quality of my work that makes people want to go to my films."
Simon Baker
Simon played the ever-so- serious lawyer, Nick Fallin in (the now defunct TV series) The Guardian. I love the fact that he never smiles (as Nick la). Also in the sequel to The Ring- Samara.
"If you can't be proud of what you do, go and sell shoes. Do something else."
Hugh Jackman
Wolverine in X-Men. ‘Nuff said. Also chosen as one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" 5 years in a row, 2000-2004. Obviously =D
"Now I meet people with full-color Wolverine tattoos on their backs. Thank God I did okay, because I think if I hadn't, they'd spit on me in the street." - on his role of Wolverine.
So, who else is YOUR favourite Aussie ?
