My Sanctuary cum Adult Daycare
“Why do people who work in offices have pictures of their family on their desk facing them? Do they forget that they’re married? Do they say to themselves, “All right. Five o’clock. Time to hit the bars and pick up some hookers. Hold it a second, look at this picture. I got a wife and three kids. I completely forgot. I better get home.”

Let me introduce you to my workspace. My cubicle. It’s nothing, really, but this is the place I where I spend most of my time. About 9 -10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week. This is just how it looked like on a less busy day. On a REALLY busy day, you couldn’t even see the table! Anyway, I practice a clear desk policy, that is, before going home, I will make sure to keep it tidy and clean for the very next day.
As for the photos in the Ikea frames, yes, you’ve guessed it right. It’s Ikmal at 3 months, Ikmal at 6 months, Ikmal at 1 year, Ikmal bla, bla, bla. Some people just don’t get my obsession with Ikmal. One kakak said, “Wey, baru sorang anak, dah nak penuh dinding. Kalau ramai nanti tatau le camner.” Kalau lagi ramai, lagi banyak kot? Or not ?
Beside my monitor is my wedding photo. Shot in a bridal studio in Jalan Ipoh, KL. People see this photo and say, “Wah, Tak rupa macam kau lah.” Some said I looked like Abby Abadi, Erra Fazira or Mas Idayu. Apa-apalah…Yelah, haven’t they heard about this invention called ‘make-up’? It can turn even the ugliest witch into a beautiful queen. But I doubt it will work on Camilla Parker Bowles, though. ;-)
On top of the monitor is the Ham-Ham gang. Hamtaro, Oxnard, Cappy, Boss, Bijou dan ntah hapa nama diaorang, aku dah lupa. I got it at Sungei Wang Plaza for RM10 (for the whole set). And that LOTR pencil holder (in blue), is one of the many LOTR stuffs I got from The LOTR:ROTK contest.
This office floor (Finance Department) will be reshuffled soon, with some of the top management going into retirement. Till then, this is my castle. My fortress. My sanctuary, hehe. ¶ 3/19/2005 09:30:00 AM

gambar anak kita... satu-satunya anak kita, mestilah kita sibuk nak letak dekat dgn diri kita, tak kiralah dlm dompet ke... kat cubicle ke... kat wallpaper pc ke... kat mana-manalah...
cam aku, blom baby kuar lagi, penuh dah workstation aku dgn pics anak buah aku - si darren haikal! dlm dompet, kat wallpaper pc, kat dlm frames kat ofis, kat mana-mana yg sempat aku akan letak... sampai kengkawan sumer ingat aku pregnant baby ke-2, walhal inilah yg sulung... darren haikal dah mcm anak aku dah... sampai ramai yg notice & cakap "eh, dah besar dah dia!" he he... tu blom anak aku sendiri tu... he he... obsess ke tak aku?
sbenarnya, wajah anak kita & orang2 yg kita sayang akan sentiasa dekat dalam hati kita... btol tak?
